Tom Cruise and his daughter, Suri Cruise, reportedly haven’t been in contact for more than a decade. However, the A-list actor is paying for his teen daughter’s education as she starts classes as a freshmen at the esteemed Carnegie Mellon University. Suri was recently spotted moving into her dorm with the help of her famous mother, Katie Holmes. Of course, Tom was nowhere in sight. However, Suri may not be able to escape her father, even at college.
According to The Daily Mail, Carnegie Mellon University offers 100 drama classes in their curriculum. One of those classes examines Tom Cruise’s raciest film ever, Eyes Wide Shut. Suri Cruise may want to exclude herself from that class. However, she could very well have friends who take the class, making things a bit awkward for the teen.

The class in question is a study of Stanley Kubrick and his films. Of course, one of those films being Eyes Wide Shut. The movie stars Tom Cruise and his then-wife Nicole Kidman as they infiltrate a sex cult. Other Kubrick films studied in the class include Full Metal Jacket, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, and more.
“We shot that for two years. We had two kids and were living in a trailer on the lot primarily, making spaghetti because Stanley liked to eat with us sometimes. We were working with the greatest filmmaker and learning about our lives and enjoying our lives on set,” Nicole Kidman previously told the New York Times of filming the steamy movie.
While the class could be of interest to Suri Cruise, it seems that she might opt to pass it over because of her estranged relationship with Tom Cruise. Studying the film would likely cast a spotlight on her that she might not want.
“She’d need therapy watching her Dad and his previous wife cavorting about, not to mention it’s a tedious film,” one fan commented.
“Yeah, I’m gonna say she’s gonna pass on Eyes Wide Shut,” another comment read.
“I have heard way too much,” said one fan.
“Katie has always kept her private, why can’t she be left to enjoy college like everyone else her age,” a fourth person stated.
It may be a touchy subject for Suri Cruise. However, if she plans to follow in her parents’ acting footsteps, she’ll likely have a hard time avoiding Tom Cruise comparisons and comments.
