Spider-Man: No Way Home is the last film where Tom Holland is contractually obliged to wear the iconic red-and-blue suit.
However, the 24-year-old actor tells Collider in a recent interview that he would be open to portraying the web-slinger again in future films should Sony and Marvel wish.
“[Spider-Man 3] would be my last one [under contract] so I’ve always said to them if they want me back I’ll be there in a heartbeat,” enthuses Tom Holland, “I’ve loved every minute of being a part of this amazing world. It’s changed my life for the better, I’m so lucky to be here. If they want me back I’ll be there, if they don’t I will walk off into the sunset a very, very happy person because it’s been an amazing journey.”
Holland further emphasizes his commitment to the role in a USA Today interview. “I’m very lucky that I look young, and I can continue to play this 17-year-old web-slinger, and I will do that for as long as they will have me. If they want me to make 10 Spider-Man movies, you better believe I will be there”. However, he added he is also “really interested to see the types of doors” his upcoming military film Cherry opens.
But regardless of whether the British rising star portrays Spidey again, you can be assured he will be taking some much-needed time off. After No Way Home, Tom Holland plans to “take a break and travel the world.”
“I might go skiing because that’s something I’ve not really been allowed to do because it’s obviously a dangerous sport,” said the actor, “I’ve been very careful over the years, which is why I’ve become obsessed with golf because it’s the only sport I can play without getting injured.”
Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled for release in theaters on 17 December 2021.
