Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics have revealed Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered, a collection of classic games from the series on modern consoles and PC. The release date for the remastered trilogy is a lot sooner than expected in February 2025.
Every game included in the collection will have improved graphics, modern controls, gameplay improvements, photo mode, trophies, and achievements, among others.
The three games included in the remastered collection are Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation from 1999, Tomb Raider: Chronicles from 2000, and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness from 2003. All games look significantly better than the original.
The Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered collection is being developed and published by Aspyr and will come out on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. You can get your hands on the games on February 14, 2025, for $29.99.
This remastered collection is being announced hot off the heels of other similar announcements from Aspyr, which include Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles and Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 & 2. If you’re a fan of any of those games, you’ll be happy to know they are coming out soon and look great, especially Soul Reaver.
These games were long forgotten, and their return has resulted in a lot of interest from fans, which likely means we can expect more similar announcements from Aspyr in the future. Although some fans have shown exhaustion when it comes to remasters and remakes, these make a lot more sense since these games are much older and are locked on dated and extremely old hardware. This is a great way of gauging interest from fans, and who knows, maybe down the line we will see full-on sequels for some of these timeless franchises.
