Today, Activision and developer Vicarious Visions announced a bundle of new skaters making their way into Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, the upcoming remaster of the classic games skateboarding games.
The list of skaters includes Nyjah Huston, Leo Baker, Leticia Bufoni, Aori Nishimura, Lizzie Armanto, Shane O’Neil, Riley Hawk, and Tyshawn Jones. This isn’t the first time these skaters have graced the virtual skate grounds, some of them have been in later games in the series, but it’s the first time they’ve been in the first two games. These eight join a lineup of classic skaters like Tony Hawk, Chad Muska, and Bob Burnquist. No word if any of the legendary hidden skaters will make their triumphant return (yet).
“Modern-day skateboarding originated from a generation of skaters who grew up playing the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games,” Michelle Bresaw, Vice President of Product Management and Marketing at Activision, said in a statement. “The world-class pro skaters we’re adding to this remaster took the tricks and combos from the videogame and made them possible in real life. We’re proud that the remaster will represent the skate culture landscape today with a diverse roster of skaters that will appeal to any gamer.”
Activision also announced the Warehouse Demo pre-order demo will launch on August 14. The demo will come to anyone that pre-orders Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 on PlayStation 4,
Announced last month, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is a full remaster of the first two games in the long-running fan-beloved skateboarding games. Every level from the two games comes packed together, rebuilt from the ground up with new graphics, revamped moves, Create-A-Park and Create-A-Skater, and online multiplayer. While not every track from the legendary setlist will be included, a good amount made the cut, such as the quintessential THPS anthem, Superman by Goldfinger.
You can pre-order Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 on the platform of choice, and it’ll launch on September 4, 2020, for the budget price of $39.99. Did your favorite make the list? Let us know in the comments below.
