The Legend of Zelda series has always included a wide variety of difficult and unique bosses, and Tears of the Kingdom is no exception. Between fights with giant monsters, dragons, and world-ending threats, the player and Link often have their work cut out for them. Each of Tears of the Kingdom bosses, including notable entries like King Gleeok, Queen Gibdo, and Ganondorf himself, tend to have an interesting gimmick or high skill requirement that can present a challenge. Here is a ranking of the hardest Tears of the Kingdom bosses you will encounter throughout the game.
10. Moragia
After emerging from Death Mountain, Link and Yunobo must take on this massive, rocky dragon as a boss in Tears of the Kingdom. Although the boss himself has a fairly low amount of health and will die to three of Yunobo’s charge attacks, some players have found it difficult to navigate with the glider that is essential to the boss fight. Luckily, the boss fight isn’t super long and should be much easier once players get used to the controls. Overall, this boss fight is a bit of a challenge, but once you get used to it, it should be a piece of cake.
9. Colgera
In another boss fight involving Link gliding around a massive boss, Colgera presents a little bit more challenge in Tears of the Kingdom. Since both bosses rely on the same mechanic, the same trick can be applied to both encounters. By mastering operating the Zonai glider, you will master both of these boss fights. Colgera, however, requires a bit more precision navigating the many obstacles that will come Link’s way in this fight, which edges Moragia out of this spot.
8. Marbled Gohma
The Marbled Gohma acts as the boss of the Fire Temple in Tears of the Kingdom. Belonging to the Gohma species, Link has dealt with these large bug-like creatures in the past, and this Gohma is no different. After using Yunobo’s charge attack to weaken the beast, players will simply need to attack the Marbled Gohma’s eye. Eventually, the beast will return to the ceiling, though it doesn’t change much about the fight. Afterward, simply hitting the boss will lead to its defeat. Luckily, this Tears of the Kingdom boss isn’t too hard. It just takes more actual gameplay skill than the previous two.
7. Mucktorok
Next, the Mucktorok makes a difficult adversary and boss of the Water Temple in Tears of the Kingdom. This special Octorok variant can spew deadly sludge and moves rapidly around the arena. First, to stop the Mucktorok, players can use Sidon’s power or any other water-based attack to make it vulnerable. Although the first phase is easy, the second phase has the beast jump around, swimming from puddle to puddle. Players must shoot it out of the air, taking a fair bit of skill and precision.
6. Demon King’s Army
Link must face the Demon King’s Army towards the end of the game, which involves taking on a horde of Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf’s warriors. This Tears of the Kingdom boss involves facing off against a large swarm of various enemies and can quickly overwhelm under-prepared adventurers. Defeating the army is made a lot easier with the help of the Sages and some preemptively constructed AoE weapons.
5. Seized Construct
The Seized Construct is yet another difficult Tears of the Kingdom boss that Link must face throughout his adventure. To win, players will need to knock the boss into an electric fence to deal damage. To make the fight easier, players must get their hands on a mech and can attach a weapon to its arm. This will allow Link to beat the boss into the fence quickly. Sadly, learning the controls of the mech and piloting it still make the Seized Construct a challenging fight.
4. Phantom Ganon
Phantom Ganon is a boss in Tears of the Kingdom that comes in three forms. Fighting this boss will require the player to have mastery over parrying, shielding, and dodging, as this battle will require a lot of one-on-one combat. Additionally, fighting each different form will require mixing up your strategies since each form change gives Phantom Ganon a new weapon. In the end, this boss is probably the biggest test of skill in all of Tears of the Kingdom.
3. Queen Gibdo
Next, Queen Gibdo is a very difficult boss in Tears of the Kingdom and presents one of Link’s biggest challenges throughout the game. First, Queen Gibdo uses many quick and highly accurate attacks that can sometimes be challenging to dodge. Each attack does a lot of damage, and finding an opportunity to attack can sometimes be impossible. Finally, in the second phase, the boss will summon enemies to swarm Link. Correspondingly, these factors combined make Tears of the Kingdom’s Queen Gibdo the third hardest boss in the game.
2. King Gleeok
King Gleeoks is one of the most challenging bosses in Tears of the Kingdom, sporting a massive health pool and tons of damage. King Gleeoks act as upgraded versions of normal Gleeoks, which are already fearsome foes, and give tons of rewards for anyone powerful enough to defeat them. Flying high in the air, King Gleeoks can do a ridiculous amount of damage with their laser attacks. Beating Tears of the Kingdom’s King Gleeoks takes a lot of planning and grinding to get strong enough equipment to take them on.
1. The Demon King Ganondorf
Finally, the hardest boss in the game is the final boss of Tears of the Kingdom himself, Ganondorf. With three phases of constant fighting, new mechanics, and an extremely long fight, players will need to use everything they’ve learned so far to stand a chance. Sadly, it’s hard to describe just how menacing fighting Tears of the Kingdom’s Ganondorf is. Players who are up for a challenge should try it out themselves.
