We all play Final Fantasy for the plot and action, right? And the characters. We can never forget the colorful and entertaining cast, their meaningful stories, epic playstyles, and undeniable good looks. That last part is what keeps many players talking. So, why not embrace our superficial sides and admire the hottest Final Fantasy characters? Too many can boast that title, but let’s focus on 10. And not just based on looks either, as personality can impact appeal.
5 Hottest Ladies in Final Fantasy
It’s next to impossible to find a woman in Final Fantasy who isn’t stunning, so choosing five of the hottest characters is a challenging feat. So, I looked to a variety of ladies, from the quiet ones to the boisterous ones, to discover the handful that are difficult not to think about.
Lulu
- First Appearance: Final Fantasy 10
Our favorite gothic witch, Lulu, steals hearts even with her aloof demeanor. Yes, she doesn’t smile too often. And yes, she can be a bit harsh with her biting comments. But it’s all worth it to see her gentler side that cares for Yuna as much as she does. She also has this air of maturity not found in some of the other Final Fantasy characters, which is one of the many reasons she ranks as one of the hottest.
Fang
- First Appearance: Final Fantasy XIII
Halter top. Tattoos. And a spear? Oerba Yun Fang has it all. She’s one of the hottest Final Fantasy characters, with her tomboy-like looks and confident (or arrogant?) attitude all wrapped up in an amusingly dry sense of humor. It’s a borderline blessing that the devs didn’t go the original route of making her character male. We need more women like Fang to shake things up a bit.
Cindy Aurum
- First Appearance: Final Fantasy XV
It’s impossible to have a countdown of the hottest Final Fantasy characters without Cindy. Our bubbly mechanic is designed head to toe as fan service. Just look at the cropped yellow jacket and the way it stops just below her chest. They know what they’re doing with her, but there are no complaints here. She’s honestly fun to interact with, and the amount of love and joy she pours into her work is too magnetic to pass up.
Lightning
- First Appearance: Final Fantasy XIII
Ah, Lightning, our pink-haired, smart-mouthed protagonist. She’s certainly pretty and easily depicts the “warrior princess” vibe. But once she opens her mouth, she’s anything but gentle. Her rough-around-the-edges and selfish attitude turned a lot of people away, but I think it adds to her charm. More so once she grows and experiences real trust and respect for those around her.
Tifa Lockhart
- First Appearance: Final Fantasy VII
It’s hard to find fans who won’t recognize Tifa. Although her looks change around, she’s more recognized for that memorable white cutoff shirt and incredibly short miniskirt outfit. She’s one of the more popular ladies and easily among the hottest Final Fantasy characters. She’s sweet, looks out for others, and always offers a helping hand or soothing shoulder to lean on. Plus, she can beat up just about anyone, a trait that many find highly appealing.
5 Hottest Guys in Final Fantasy
Now it’s time to give the guys a turn as we search for the hottest characters in Final Fantasy. From gruff mature men to youthful sky pirates, there’s someone for everyone. We’re spoiled with a buffet of choices, so I settled with a handful that never seemed to leave my mind.
Gladiolus
- First Appearance: Final Fantasy XV
Prince Noctis has some rather handsome friends, but Gladiolus won this round. Why is he one of the hottest? For starters, he’s tall, he’s buff, and he has a lot of tattoos. It’s the so-called perfect “bad boy” look, yet his personality is the opposite in the best of ways. He’s delightful, he’s funny, and he pushes those he cares about to their utmost potential no matter what. His protective streak is infatuating, too.
Clive
- First Appearance: Final Fantasy XVI
Clive is an easy choice when looking for that tall, dark, and handsome trope. On the surface, he nails every traditional masculine trait. However, he’s such a positive representation of that energy that it makes him more inviting. Clive is the ideal man when you want someone who is gruff yet not afraid to express his feelings to his companions and loved ones.
Cid
- First Appearance: Final Fantasy XVI
Yes, we’re pulling from Final Fantasy XVI again, but that’s just because numerous guys can compete for a spot on the hottest character list. Cidolfus Telamon, AKA “Cid,” makes the cut with little difficulty. He looks like the dreamy, roguish leading man. Once he opens his mouth, he seems to become the most tempting human being.
Balthier
- First Appearance: Final Fantasy XII
Speaking of leading men, Balthier, the sky pirate. He fulfills all the pirate fantasies one could ask for. The man boasts a stereotypical boy-next-door look that would make him the lead in any romance film, and he has all the charisma to back it up. He’s yet another one, further helped by a strong voice actor who sells it. Sideburns aside, Balthier will remain one of the hottest Final Fantasy characters.
Noctis
- First Appearance: Final Fantasy XV
Yes, Noctis is within my top five hottest characters in Final Fantasy. But I’m not talking about the young version, who was certainly pretty, but not unlike most other leads in the series. Instead, I’m talking about older Noctis. The one with the weathered appearance, beard, and graying hair. His metamorphosis is one of the most impressive feats in Final Fantasy history.
