As many players have already noticed, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is chock-full of some of the best references, cameos, and Easter Eggs that the series has to offer. Most of these Easter Eggs appeal specifically to long-term fans of the series, calling back to many of Zelda’s most popular games. This includes Majora’s Mask, Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, and many more. Usually, these references and stories in Tears of the Kingdom are found in things like armor, music, and locations and range from tiny to find, obscure details to large-scale parts of the story and game. For those who want to see all the references and cameos, here are the best Easter Eggs in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

6. Campfire Songs

This first Tears of the Kingdom Easter Egg should be pretty apparent to veteran fans of the series, or music lovers in general, and has to do with the cooking sections of the game. While Link is cooking, he will hum a little song that players can pick up from previous entries of the Legend of Zelda series. Some of these entries include the main theme of the Legend of Zelda series, “Epona’s Song,” “Lost Woods,” and “Zelda’s Lullaby.” While most of these songs are from Ocarina of Time, fans of that game’s soundtrack should be excited to hear Link hum whenever he starts cooking.

5. A Nostalgic Paraglider

For fans of Tears of the Kingdom’s predecessor, Breath of the Wild, this small Easter Egg should be instantly recognizable. If Link ventures to the place he originally was given his first paraglider in Breath of the Wild, he will obtain the Nostalgic Fabric. By using this fabric, Link can make his glider resemble the one he used throughout Breath of the Wild. While many players didn’t pay enough attention to Link’s previous glider to warrant the journey to find it again, for some finding this glider is like returning to an old friend after many years.

4. Armors Of The Past

Tears of the Kingdom has a huge amount of armor that Link can wear into battle, including some that should be familiar to fans of the series. While there are plenty of armor references to fill this entire list, in Tears of the Kingdom, Link can wear a cameo armor from almost every Legend of Zelda game to date. This includes the Dark Armor, referencing Dark Link, the Fierce Deity Armor, referencing Fierce Deity Link, the Phantom Armor, referencing the Phantoms and Phantom Zelda, the Tingle Armor, referencing Tingle, and many more. Any player that holds a lot of nostalgia for the series should keep a lookout for these armor pieces, especially if they missed them on the first playthrough.

3. An Old Foe

A Guardian which can be found destroyed in Tears of the Kingdom.

Once again, fans of Breath of the Wild should already be aware of the menacing mechanical creatures known as Guardians, that Link fought throughout the game. However, on the roof of Tears of the Kingdom’s Hateno Tech Lab, Link can find this Easter Egg, the decaying body of one of these once formidable foes. While there isn’t much to do with the long-deceased enemy besides looking at it, seeing it deactivated in this game is a wonderful reminder that you won’t need to deal with them any longer in Tears of the Kingdom.

2. A Visit From Lon Lon Ranch

One of the more obscure and easy-to-miss Easter Eggs on this list involves the milk from Tears of the Kingdom. Some eagle-eyed veterans of the series have probably noticed that the Fresh Milk found throughout the game has the Lon Lon Ranch insignia as a label. While for some, this is a simple drawing of a cow, others are transported back to Ocarina of Time, listening to the relaxing melody of Lon Lon Ranch.

1. The Depths Currency

A Poe, which can be found as currency in Tears of the Kingdom.

Finally, one of the most obscure Easter Eggs in Tears of the Kingdom involves the currency of the Depths, known as Poes. Players who have played Zelda for a while should be familiar with these creatures as they are generally ghost-like enemies holding a lantern that Link must face. Despite being in the series on many occasions, however, some players have still missed the name of the creature and thus the reference made by this ghostly currency. However, those who do pay attention to the names of Link’s many enemies were in for a treat when first finding this Tears of the Kingdom Easter Egg.
