The Steam Wishlist section is often a good indication of how popular a certain title will be. You can almost smell the gamer anticipation through the screen, and for this year, we have a strong and varied mix of successful indie and even mainstream sequels. Join in on the excitement with the top Steam Wishlisted games for this year.
10. Light No Fire (TBA)
It’s No Man’s Sky but in a fantasy setting, and with the original developers as well. With just how faithfully they improved a poor game at release, No Man’s Sky‘s devs have gained plenty of goodwill. Hence, players are right to feel excited about Light No Fire.
9. Unrecord (TBA)
Unrecord released a game preview with a bit of controversy, but that didn’t stop Steam players from Wishlisting the upcoming “found-footage bodycam shooter.” It’s still too early to tell what the game will be like, but Steam players like what they see nonetheless.
8. Marvel Rivals (TBA)
It’s Marvel, of course, people will be excited about it. Maybe this time they’ll enjoy the renewed attention that they failed to secure in the MCU post-Endgame. After Overwatch 2‘s disastrous decisions, hero shooter players are hungry for a new home in Marvel Rivals.
7. ARK 2 (TBA)
ARK: Survival Evolved is one of the biggest survival games out there, and its sequel is only bound to get similar attention. And despite the expectedly exorbitant system requirements, PC players are still awaiting this ARK 2‘s arrival.
6. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 (September 9, 2024)
It’s been more than a decade since the original, so Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is about to fill that zealous gap in any 40k fan’s heart– and soon. With how Warhammer games are on a roll this decade, it’s fair to expect this one to be good as well.
5. Monster Hunter Wilds (2025)
Despite having a longer release date than most Steam Wishlisted games, Monster Hunter Wilds remains highly anticipated. It’s the legendary and mainline sequel to Monster Hunter: Worlds. Given how Worlds brought the franchise into an enduring mainstream spotlight, it’s easy to see why Wilds is driving the newly-inducted Monster Hunters wild.
4. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl (November 20, 2024)
Sadly, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was delayed to November from its original September release date. However, the strong Games Fest 2024 showing keeps its radioactive fire burning hot.
3. Frostpunk 2 (September 20, 2024)
Frostpunk 2 bringing the winter chill earlier with its end-of-summer release. The original’s lovely mix of survival and city-building was a pleasant surprise. Frostpunk 2 is bound to improve upon its predecessor’s cold and calculating hybrid genre.
2. Hollow Knight: Silksong (TBA)
Looks like Hollow Knight fans will have to wait a bit longer for Hollow Knight: Silksong since there’s no definite release date yet. It still continues to be near the top of the Steam Wishlisted games regardless.
1. Black Myth: Wukong (August 20, 2024)
The Souls-like fever isn’t about to die down soon, Black Myth: Wukong is about to follow up on the genre after Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree‘s strong showing. It’s a different flavor this time since Black Myth: Wukong is about the titular Monkey King of Chinese mythology with a Souls-like twist.
