Tracee Ellis Ross is getting a headstart on the 2023 holiday season with the Prime Video comedy Candy Cane Lane. The Black-ish star will be in the film opposite Eddie Murphy. This is the first collaboration between the two actors. Reginald Hudlin is directing it and Kelly Younger wrote the script. Younger’s personal holiday experiences inspired the film. No details have been released regarding the role Ross will play in the Prime Video holiday comedy Candy Cane Lane. It has already started production in Los Angeles. This is the first film of Murphy’s three-picture overall deal with Amazon after Coming 2 America was a success. Tracee Ellis Ross wrapped up the eighth and last season of Black-ish in 2022 and is already moving on to other roles. She is an executive producer of the Onyx Collective-Hulu docuseries The Hair Tales as well.

The fellow “nepo baby” has earned her place in Hollywood time and time again. She even had a chance to follow in her music legend mother, Diana Ross’s footsteps. She did her own singing in the 2020 film High Note. Girlfriends launched her career and ran from 2000 to 2008. She played Dr. Rainbow “Bow” Johnson, the matriarch of the Johnson family in the series Black-ish for eight years and eight seasons. Ross has achieved much-deserved fame and recognition. There’s no doubt she has a small role in Candy Cane Lane. Tracee Ellis Ross will be able to further show her comedic chops in the Prime Video holiday comedy with the comedy veteran, Eddie Murphy. Despite details being kept from the public on the role, Ross will play in Candy Cane Lane, it will surely be entertaining with the team it has behind it.
