A Louisiana woman, worried sick about her soldier husband, shared her thoughts online following the conflict in the Middle East. While her heartfelt post touched many, one person in particular, a very prominent travel influencer, “prayed” for him not to “make it home.” Backlash ensued, and he has since made his 1.4 million TikTok account private.

The soldier’s wife, Brittany, a mother of four, clapped back at the reprehensible comment from travel influencer Nomadically Ryan. He wrote, “Praying he doesn’t make it home. You are on the wrong [side] of history. He won’t be remembered as a hero.”

The Louisiana mother, however, acted with class. She had posted about the hardships of having a military husband in a previous post that went viral. Britanny talked about missed birthdays, empty seats, and “kids asking when Daddy’s coming home.” Finally, she prayed for every service member and their families.

She, of course, expected hate comments, saying that the country was divided by politics. Still, she decided to respond to Ryan’s, calling it “disgusting.”

“I wasn’t even gonna give this person the attention they were so badly seeking,” Brittany continued. “However, I feel like that’d be doing a disservice to so many military members and military families. So, I want the right people to do their thing, so go ahead and blow this up.”

Influencer Under Fire, Reactions

And Brittany’s response did, in fact, blow up. She garnered more than 673,000 views, 67,000 likes, and 7,700 comments. Users were relentless in exposing Nomadically Ryan for his “disgusting” comment about the Louisiana woman’s soldier husband. They went so far as to post his full name and the name of his talent management agency.

“I’m so sick of people hating on military and police,” one user wrote. Another one said, “Sorry you had to deal with this person. We are thankful for your entire family for serving this country.” A third one added, “Land of the free because of the brave.”

The backlash was so intense that Ryan was forced to go into hiding by making his TikTok account private. His 1.4 million followers are now the only ones able to see and comment on his posts. Ryan’s other social media accounts, such as Instagram or YouTube, are still open and available. As expected, users weren’t too kind to him after he was called out.
