Travis Kelce is opening up about getting older, his football career, and more. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who has been very publicly dating Taylor Swift since last fall, has been taking heat for his on-field performance as of late. Through the first four games of the season, Kelce has yet to score a touchdown, and hasn’t seemed to look at the top of his game quite yet. Now, he’s speaking out about his diet and love of junk food after being blasted for being out of shape.
During the latest episode of his New Heights podcast, Travis Kelce revealed that he’s been looking to change up his diet as he approaches his 35th birthday. This comes just after it was reported that Taylor Swift has been helping whip her boyfriend back into shape.
Travis Kelce Gets Real About His Health Amid Taylor Swift Rumors
“Just, I see that golden glazed doughnut just sitting in the yellow box, I’m just like, ‘I don’t need that today, I’ll get it tomorrow,’ knowing that they don’t have boxes of doughnuts every day,” he explained. “[I] just lie to myself so that I don’t just grab 10 doughnuts and run around the corner and just stuff my face like a little fat kid,” he added.
Meanwhile, Travis’ older brother, Jason Kelce, sympathized. “It’s a sad day when you’re in your NFL career and you realize you’ve hit that age where you can’t just eat whatever you want anymore,” Jason stated.
“Travis getting brutally honest about eating junk food is so relatable,” one person commented.
“Might as well indulge yourself dude,” another stated.
Meanwhile, one thing that Kelce didn’t touch on was his relationship with Swift. Rumors have been flying that the couple are on the rocks after the singer was a no-show at the athlete’s last two NFL games. In addition, a “fake” PR breakup strategy leaked online, leaving many fans to wonder if a split is brewing between Swift and Kelce.
For now, it seems that all is well between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. The singer is preparing to finish up her Eras tour. Meanwhile, the Super Bowl champ is looking to stay in shape and up his game on the field.
