In an unwanted update, Treyarch Studios has removed all the 2XP tokens we had from MW3 and Warzone in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This has enraged some fans as they were trying to max out weapons and find it easier to prestige with these tokens; however, did you know that you can still use them? Yes, they’re not in BO6 anymore, but the shared CoD HQ with Warzone allows just that.
Update November 17, 2024:
Treyarch has addressed this matter as a UI issue which they’re trying to fix. More news regarding “Legacy 2XP tokens” is coming soon next week.
Black Ops 6 has changed the overall design of the grinding process we previously had in Call of Duty in the past couple of years. Right now, with BO6 and Warzone, you can’t just level up your account to a 50 or 150 limit and then wait for the next season to add 100 more to it. All those 1000+ levels you want to grind for this year are right in front of you, but there’s a catch.
Whenever you reach level 55, you can either reset your account and prestige, starting from level 1 again with a cool logo beside your profile name and exclusive rewards to claim, or you can just stand back. Now there are 10 prestige levels to reach the final podium, and there are 1000 more levels after that, which translates into months of playing. That’s where the Black Ops 6 and Warzone 2XP tokens come into play.
Although Activision had previously announced that the tokens from Warzone won’t be transferred to Black Ops 6, many are still shocked by Treyarch doing just that with the recent update. However, it’s no big deal when you can still go into Warzone, activate the tokens you have there, and then come back to BO6 and play Multiplayer and Zombies.
For instance, here is my Black Ops 6 2XP tokens menu which has run dry with the last update. The ones you see are the tokens I’ve claimed from the Season 1 Battle Pass.
Now here’s my Warzone 2XP tokens menu, which is so damn rich. I’ll activate a few of these 1H 2XP tokens and head over to the Black Ops 6, and well, they’re all there, activated and ready to be used in the game.
So, it’s still unclear why the developers have removed the 2XP tokens from Black Ops 6 and not Warzone. This raises my eyebrow as if they want to remove them from Warzone as well. Or maybe there’ll be an update that limits the usage of 2XP tokens in Black Ops 6? At this point, the recent update have no logical explanation.
