Every year there’s always someone who goes above and beyond with their costume and decorations while handing out candy for Halloween. This year, a family thought it would be a great idea to dress up while handing out candy, and they didn’t quite get the reaction they were hoping for as their first trick or treaters of the year showed up to get some treats of their own. After thoroughly traumatizing a child, the video of the incident was posted on Reddit, where the comment section filled up quickly.
As this family’s first trick or treater‘s arrived on Halloween, a father with two kids walked up, urging his older child to walk up and ask for candy. However, the younger of the two wasn’t having a great time. As the door was opened, she must have spied the man in the Michael Myers costume, and started screaming hysterically and running as fast as she could away from the house. While the situation itself wasn’t the funniest, the comments started filling up fast from Redditors who thought it was absolutely hilarious not only that the girl went running the way she did, but also how impressed they were with the father who didn’t love his cool during the whole thing.
“Now that’s the spirit of Halloween,” one Redditor said. “Need more wholesome Halloween content like this,” another followed with. “The comedic timing of the kid screaming is hilarious,” read another comment.
“Props to the other dad for being cool, not making a scene. I was half expecting him to pull a karen “you’re gonna yell at my kid?!?!?!”,” said @Substantial-Tone864 under the video, receiving several upvotes and even gaining others opinions on the matter. This was followed by, “I feel like the dad should’ve gone after the kid while the girl got the candy because a terrified child can cover a lot of ground. Did they ever find her?” It’s clear the fact that the father didn’t chase after the toddler-aged child sparked some serious concern.
