During a college football game in San Diego, California, a woman made the terrible and unforgivable mistake of cheering the opposing team. This apparently triggered a couple, and a stadium security officer even warned the woman that she was “aggressively cheering.”
The ridiculous incident was shared online by TikTok user lanie619. It all took place at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, California, during a game between the San Diego State Aztecs and the Wyoming Cowboys.
The woman recording the interaction was accused of “aggressively cheering,” with the security officer warning her, “If you do this again, I’m gonna have to get you out of here.” He then told her she can cheer, but not while being loud.
While she explained that she was cheering for her cousin playing for the Cowboys, using the Samoan expression for excitement, “fa’umu,” the couple sitting next to her wasn’t having any of it.
“Go cry to somebody else,” the man wearing a red San Diego hat told the woman. He then told her to “shut up” when the woman said, “huh?“
Mad Karen Couple Meltdown, Reactions
The man’s partner started recording the situation and accused the woman of being rude as they all continued to argue. The security added, “Lady, I was watching you. I saw you turn to look at them,” and when she tried to explain, the man interjected by asking the security officer to kick her out.
“You’re not even watching the game,” the man said as he quickly turned his head to face the field.
Users blasted the mad Karen couple in the comments, and user pasifika.wayz identified them on Instagram as Luke Ratcliffe and Mackenzie Day.
“Why can’t they mind their business smh,” one user wrote. A second one commented, “Not a man yelling in the background aggressively cheer and he didn’t tell him nothing.” A third one added, “‘You can cheer, but not that loud’ okay we’ll remember to use our inside voices at a FOOTBALL GAME.”
Many others accused the couple of being racist, pointing to a clear ignorance of the woman’s culture. And although we don’t know what happened before the woman started recording, it is indeed a bad look.
