If you follow the news on Twitch, you’ve probably heard by now that Dr. Disrespect has admitted to inappropriate texts with a minor. The scandal surrounding the world-famous streamer dates back years, following a mysterious Twitch ban in 2020, and now he’s put the rumors to rest by revealing that he held conversations with a minor that, by his own admission, could be considered “inappropriate.” In the few hours since then, Dr. Disrespect has been losing fans in waves, and even some of his fellow Twitch streamers – and close friends – have come forward to publicly withdraw their support.
Dr. Disrespect, whose real name is Guy Beahm, isโor at least wasโa world-class Twitch streamer who’s built quite the community around himself in the last few years. Like a lot of other streamers, he’s formed a network of collaborators and friends who often show up in his videos. Two such people are Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff and Tim “TimTheTatMan” Betar, friends of Beahm’s who have been left reeling alongside everyone else.
Nickmercs and TimTheTatMan Speak Out Against Dr. Disrespect
Published within two minutes of each other, both Twitch streamers’ videos have one clear message: they won’t support Dr. Disrespect and what he did, friend or not. In his statement, Nickmercs posted a roughly minute-long video checking in with his fans and making his thoughts on Beahm’s relations with a minor very clear.
“Just to be blunt and straightforward: that’s inexcusable, that’s unacceptable…There’s no excuse for something like that. I can’t support it [and] can’t defend it.”

Like Nickmercs, Tim “TimTheTatMan” Betar also posted a video, though his was a little longer – around ninety seconds – and he seemed to still be in shock from the news. Betar admitted that this was a “difficult” situation for him, given his close friendship to Beahm, but he said that if what Beahm admitted to in his initial statement was true, then that crossed a line.
“My bottom line is: if what [Beahm] said, and he was sending messages that would teeter on inappropriate…if he knew that was a minor, and those were the messages being sent, I cannot support that.”

Both streamers seem to be struggling with the revelations regarding their friend, and rightfully so. Robert Bowling, the head of Midnight Society – which Dr. Disrespect helped found – has also drawn a clear line between himself and Beahm in a statement following his decision to remove Beahm from the company.
No other Twitch streamers have come forward with their own statements yet, and there’s been no official word from Twitch, though more information may be yet to come.
