There are some stories you hear on the Internet that just leave you melting on the inside like butter. Kindness does exist in this world, and two women in North Carolina recently proved it when they helped a child who is struggling with homelessness.

She truly has such a great heart! I told her I’d go half on the costs bc this was just a random occurrence & I’m sure she hadn’t planned on spending the extra money. He really needed much more but this is all we could do this night. She promised him some clothes next week ❤️ she has asssited him multiple times before with food/drinks & never knew his name. Praying for Josiah’s situation to turn around! #fyp #help #boys #friends

The pair had just left a Dollar Tree store when they saw the 10-year-old, later identified as Josiah, with an older relative. They said they had seen the boy around before and had occasionally offered him food or drinks. This time, when one of the women asked if he needed anything, Josiah asked for shoes because he didn’t own any. He spoke to them while standing barefoot. The women then took Josiah to a nearby Walmart, where they helped him choose gray sneakers he liked. They also picked up socks, boxers, and a small backpack so he could carry his belongings more easily. As they moved through the aisles, they added a Nerf toy gun to the cart after he mentioned it was something he wanted.

The one who filmed the TikTok video wrote in the caption that she offered to split the cost with her friend, knowing that the evening’s shopping trip had been unexpected but necessary. “She truly has such a great heart,” she said about her friend, adding that she hoped that Josiah’s situation would soon improve. The other woman planned to return the following week with more clothes to help him through the season.

Netizens React to the North Carolina Women’s Heartwarming Gesture

Many viewers praised the women for their generosity. “Girl I’m so emotional 😭,” one person wrote. A second added, “He’s going to remember yall forever.. 💞,” while someone else commented, “May god bless yall in abundance 🥺.” Several were moved by the boy’s courage in asking for help, with one user saying, “Sweet baby. I’m so glad he asked for help. 😭💞.”

Others expressed outrage that a child like Josiah faces homelessness at all. “No kid should be homeless in America 🥹🥺😢,” a commenter said. Another offered to help directly, suggesting, “This is so awesome and beautiful 💯!! 🥰 Start an Amazon wish list!! I will support. Following now for updates 💯.”

Many emphasized how small gestures can mean the world to someone in need. “This is all it takes. We all aren’t rich but the fact you had empathy & used the little you had for one thing gives hope,” one person shared. Another netizen remarked, “There really are angels among us. Y’all are angels to this boy.”
