Tyrese Gibson and Samantha Lee’s Divorce Could Have Been Averted
Lee let her emotions get the better of her when she filed for divorce from Gibson. But now, Tyrese Gibson’s estranged wife wishes she could turn back the hands of time. On October 16, 2023, Lee was a guest on the Hardly Initiated podcast, where she opened up about her tumultuous divorce from Gibson. Speaking to hosts Ryan Catchings and Tysean Jackson, the licensed social worker regrets filing the divorce documents.
“I think we do take divorce very casually. I would never tell a woman to walk through that in the same frame as I was when I did it,” Lee began.
She then recalled crying over the phone while speaking to her attorney when she decided to pull the plug. Lee admitted it was the wrong move as she felt hurt and emotionally intoxicated then. Furthermore, Lee shared that her divorce might have been averted if she sought counsel from a pro-marriage community.
“The people I had in my ear at the time were not for that. The truth about the matter is that if I had different people in my ear at that time, I would not have made that decision,” she said.
Ultimately, Lee stressed the need to abstain from making important choices while emotionally distraught. For her, even if she calmed down after filing for divorce, it was too late as she had already made an “irreparable hole.”
Tyrese Gibson Responds to Samantha Lee’s Comments
On Monday night, Gibson responded to Lee’s words in an emotionally charged post. In the almost 12-minute video, the actor claimed that the desire for attention was the motive behind Lee’s revelation.
“She is loving it. Congratulations, you went viral again over something else that you said ’cause you trying to build up your YouTube page and get your followers up,” Gibson began.
Addressing Lee, the Fast X actor noted that Lee was heartless if she allowed people to push her into leaving her husband and one-year-old child.
Gibson then questioned Lee’s revelation, noting that it was for clout. He shared that his ex was still seeking child support of $20,000 monthly despite making $160,000 a year. He revealed that Lee hired three law firms despite their prenup and legal fees approaching a million dollars. The singer then clarified that his recent songs, Don’t Think You Ever Loved Me and Love Transaction, weren’t about reconciling with Lee.
“I don’t want no one to confuse me releasing songs singing about how I feel about Samantha with confusing me wanting this woman back,” he shared.
Unfortunately for fans rooting for the couple’s reconciliation, it seems it is truly over between Tyrese Gibson and Samantha Lee.
