California Uber Eats Driver’s Foot Photo Trick Is Raising Eyebrows and Tips: ‘Taking Notes’

A California Uber Eats driver is going viral after sharing a simple discovery that she says increased her tips: leaving her feet in the frame of delivery photos. The images themselves are not explicit, showing food left at a customer’s door with her feet partially visible. Still, she claims the small detail led to more customers adding extra tips after delivery, raising eyebrows about how presentation can influence earnings in the gig economy.

The story began on the Threads platform, where the California driver posted examples of her delivery photos and explained her experience. The post quickly gained traction, earning more than 70,000 likes, around 3,000 comments, and over 1,000 reposts. It later spread to Reddit, where it picked up additional attention with hundreds of upvotes and dozens of comments as users debated whether the strategy actually works.

The images she shared are straightforward: standard proof-of-delivery photos taken at a customer’s doorstep. The only difference is that her feet are visible somewhere in the frame, often near the bottom edge of the picture. According to her, that small change was enough to catch customers’ attention and, in many cases, lead to increased tips after the drop-off was complete.

As the post spread, there were a few complications. Another user on X reposted the story while claiming it as their own, gaining over 11,000 likes, 200 comments, and about 500 reposts. Community Notes later flagged the post and linked back to the California driver, though the repost remained up. The situation added another layer to the viral moment, with some users criticizing the attempt to take credit while others focused on the tip strategy itself.

Meanwhile, the California driver leaned into the attention. She explained that she usually does Uber Eats early in the morning for extra spending money and decided to share her Venmo after the post gained traction. “If you appreciate the game or the toes, you can leave a little tip too!,” she wrote, joking that she wanted a “rotisserie chicken allowance” and even a “pedicure allowance.” At least one user reportedly sent her $25.

Internet Reacts To California Driver’s Foot Photo Trick

Reactions online have been mostly amused and supportive. Many users were surprised that such a small and unconventional detail could make a difference. “Taking notes,” one person wrote. Another joked, “I’m a guy. Bout to paint my toes and shave my legs for the first time in my life. can anyone recommend me some girly shoes that are size 14? Lol.” Not everyone saw the same results, though. One commenter said they tried a similar approach but ended up having tips reduced instead.

The story is gaining attention because it highlights how unpredictable customer behavior can be in app-based work, where even minor changes in presentation might affect earnings. It also taps into internet humor, with many users treating the idea as both a joke and a potential side hustle tactic.
