A Michigan woman who claimed to be a nurse was filmed yelling at restaurant employees for smiling before allegedly returning to the establishment and threatening them.
The situation began while the woman was waiting for her food and noticed employees smiling. She appeared to assume that they were laughing at her, which caused her to become upset. The employee who was filming then asked her, “I can’t laugh?” In response, the woman told the employee to get her food.
The woman continued yelling at the female employee before claiming that she was a nurse. The employee then told her that she hoped the woman’s day would get better. Despite the well-wish, the woman responded by cursing at the employee.
Even after the employees handed the nurse her food, she continued yelling at them and causing a scene inside the restaurant. As she began leaving, the employee filming the encounter started laughing loudly, seemingly to mock her, which appeared to upset the nurse further and prompted her to yell at the employees again. The employee later posted footage of the encounter with the caption, “Mad cause we were smiling.”
The employee later posted a follow-up video showing the nurse returning to the restaurant, this time wearing her scrubs. The nurse stood behind the glass separating her from the employees and continued staring at them as they worked. “What’s wrong with you, baby?” the employee asked the nurse as she continued staring at her in silence.
The employee alleged in the caption that the nurse threatened to kill her when she returned to the restaurant. “Why she come back? She said she gon unalive me now. She waiting on me to leave. This embarrassing at this point,” the employee wrote. She also claimed in the comments that the nurse told her she was going to stalk her every day until she quit her job at the restaurant. These allegations have not been independently verified, and it is unclear whether police became involved following the alleged threats.
Viewers Worried As Michigan Nurse Harasses Restaurant Employees
The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers expressed concern about the safety of the Michigan restaurant employees following the nurse’s alleged threats. Some urged the employee to report the nurse, arguing that her repeated visits and alleged comments could amount to harassment. “I would contact her Employer and report her. It’s harassment at this point. She’s miserable & looking for trouble,” one person wrote. Another commenter said, “one thing I learned is that you do not fight a CNA. Those women be miserable bc they hate their jobs and life. They will take your life over nothing.”
More viewers called for the nurse to face consequences over the way she treated the restaurant employees. “She’s gonna straight up lose her job in a few days at this point. You got full on threats you can screenshot. Idc who was in the wrong. Anyone who works in the healthcare industry would typically have wayyyy more common sense than that,” one person wrote. Another commenter urged the employee to take the alleged threats seriously, saying, “believe a person when they say they will unalive you.”
The video sparked a broader conversation about the harassment restaurant employees can face from upset customers while simply trying to do their jobs. It also led to discussion about how nurses and other healthcare workers are expected to remain professional even when they become angry or frustrated, with some viewers arguing that inappropriate behavior or alleged threats should have consequences regardless of what caused the confrontation.
