Ubisoft has just announced that its newly released Skull and Bones has reached record numbers of player engagement since its launch but has decided not to reveal the actual sales numbers or the exact player count. This was revealed through a press note that announced the first season of Skull and Bones that also shared that the daily average playtime is hovering around four hours, which makes it the second highest ever for any game from Ubisoft.
But that is quite vague, all things considered. When developers have a successful game on their hands, they usually share the sales numbers and concurrent player numbers. And since Skull and Bones is not on Steam, we can not verify this claim. But according to what Ubisoft says, players are spending a lot of time sailing the high seas.
Skull And Bones Record Player Engagement Revealed But Sales Figures Were Not
We know for a fact that the moment Skull and Bones came out, the player count for Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag went up by 200%. This happened the very same day as the release of the long-awaited game.
Ubisoft has had it hard for a while now, Skull and Bones was originally revealed way back in 2017 and was based on the addictive ship-sailing from Black Flag. This was followed by a plethora of delays that made it seem that the game was in development hell like Ubisoft’s Beyond Good & Evil 2. But luckily that wasn’t the case.
