London seems to be the new hotspot for celebrities following Donald Trump‘s election victory. A source recently spotted actress America Ferrera in Barnes, a district in South West London where other A-listers live. The insider claimed the Ugly Betty star looked like she was planning to move into the area.
While they did not catch Ferrera shopping for a new home, they spotted her checking out private schools. Ferrera shares six-year-old son Sebastian Piers and four-year-old daughter Lucia Marisol with her husband Ryan Piers Williams. While searching for the perfect place for her kids to attend, the source noted:
“She was seen there at the open day and appeared very happy with what she saw. It’s a school with a lot of celebrity children at it, so her kids would fit in very well.”
The informant explained Ferrera’s kids would fit right into the school because celebrity children weren’t treated differently. If the actress chooses the institution, she wouldn’t have to worry about her children blending in. Besides offering her kids a chance to grow outside the spotlight, Ferrera’s ties to London go deeper.
She first visited the city at 18 for work and resided there in 2012. At the time, she was starring in Chicago at the esteemed Garrick Theater. Ferrera returned to London in September ahead of the United Nations General Assembly. She attended the event as the International Organization of Migration’s Global Goodwill Ambassador, per HELLO!
While Ferrera’s past ties to London stemmed from work, her recent move might be tied to Trump’s presidency. Following his triumph at the elections, she reposted a text author Mira Jacob shared on her Instagram page. The TV personality shared the note on her IG Story, showing she agreed with Jacob’s message. The text addressed the “brutal” nature of the country and how only a minor group fought against it.
She went on about how there was beauty in their fight and desire to change the world. The message focused on a mother wanting her child to pick up the mantle and do their part. It seemed to be Ferrera’s way of telling her kids they needed to build a new life in London. However, she isn’t alone, with actress-singer Jennifer Lopez skipping the US for greener pastures.

Someone hoped she wouldn’t return to the US, while another claimed she never failed to embarrass herself. “And she thought we valued her opinion. That’s sweet,” a cheeky commenter penned.
