ICE agents usually perform their operations out in the open. With their faces covered and equipped with heavy gear, they are often seen forcing and entering people’s homes or grabbing people from the road. However, some ICE agents are also quite sneaky. One man in Minnesota noticed a suspicious car parked in front of his business. The man suspected that the people inside were ICE agents. With his phone in hand, he turned the camera on and approached the vehicle. Narrating to the camera, he said that he couldn’t believe that taxpayers’ money was being wasted on ICE agents so they could spend their time lurking in front of his business.
He pointed out how the ICE agents rented a car and even pasted a fake business vehicle decal. The windows themselves were tinted, so it was hard to see the people inside. However, the ICE agent the Minnesota man suspected was wearing a high-visibility vest, still with the bottom half of their face hidden. The Minnesota man couldn’t believe that the government was paying ICE agents to bother lawful Americans. He also criticized the ICE agents for hiding their faces and acting like cowards.
The internet also wasn’t happy with how the ICE agents were acting in Minnesota. ICE agents being out in the open was already terrifying enough; some people became even more uncomfortable at the thought that there could be ICE agents hiding in public too. “Actual, textbook definition secret police,” one user wrote. Another said,“This is straight up secret police kidnappings. It was never about “illegals” or just “immigration. If it was, they wouldn’t need all the guns and vests and crazy tactics and purposely taking citizens and legal residents.”
Some Minnesota users also remarked that they had begun to see some suspicious cars going around their area. One Redditor said, “I have wondered if the feds are using vehicles that companies have gotten rid of to try and blend in during surveillance… vehicles like these beat-up Advanced Mobile Leak Detection rigs that have been parked at a Bloomington, MN hotel all month and I’ve seen out ‘detecting’ in apartment parking lots…”
Others found it ridiculous that the ICE agents were still wearing masks even while hiding inside their car. Some pointed out that people wouldn’t be as suspicious if they weren’t clearly acting strange. “If you’re going to be in disguise, at least take off the mask. It’s a dead giveaway,” one commenter wrote. Another said, “Patagonia ball cap. Dead giveaway. No outdoor, blue-collar worker sports a brand-new $50 Patagonia hat in this weather.”
