You don’t usually walk into a store expecting a crash course in crime scene cleanup. But that’s exactly what one Costco shopper in California got after asking about a simple cleaning product. Instead of the usual sales pitch, the employee he spoke with launched into a rambling monologue that quickly veered into bizarre territory.
According to the customer, she first explained how the product could handle everyday messes: spills, stains, and the aftermath of kids being kids. Then, without missing a beat, she casually added that it would work just as well for covering up a murder. When he played along and asked whether combining bleach with the cleaner would be more effective, she eagerly confirmed. The entire exchange suggested the employee wasn’t fully grounded in reality, leaving the shopper with advice he never expected to hear in a Costco aisle.
The conversation escalated into a step-by-step primer. The employee allegedly advised him to lay down plastic and even suggested digging the hole in advance. All the while, she was visibly off-kilter, talking in a way that made it hard to believe she was sober.
For reasons that aren’t exactly earth-shattering, the customer kept feeding the scene, inventing a story about killing his wife after finding out she’d cheated. Her reaction, according to the account: “Good. Do it.”
At least she could find the product when he asked for two boxes, and, alarmingly, she seemed fine when he said he’d call her before the murder so she could help. She volunteered a friend with shovels already lined up. So yes: apparently you can buy cleaner at Costco and also get unsolicited tips on how to bury a body.
People Reacting to the Unhinged California Costco Employee
Almost immediately, people noticed that the California woman was high. The tweaking and murder advice gave it away. Since she looked like she was having the time of her life, one person wrote, “Oh she’s on a TRIPPP.” Another person believed that she was on meth as they said, “That’s my homiegirl METHANIE.” Methanie sounds like a good name for her. Someone else couldn’t help but comment on her tweaking as they added a pun to their comments and said, “She needs to tweak her sales pitch.” Since she actually managed to sell the cleaning product, one person commented, “She’s actually selling them tho.” If her selling skills are good, then this might be why Costco is still keeping her around.
Others found it insane that Costco would hire this California employee, given how she was behaving. This made one person say, “They hire anyone but me.” Maybe they should ask her for resume advice. Another person believed that she was a family hire as they said, “This had to be a family hire.” There was also one woman who thought that the employee wasn’t actually a real one. “She found that apron outside and decided she was getting PAID TODAY,” she wrote. That would explain a lot. Some people were also worried that the video would get her fired, as one person said, “take it down before she gets fired bro..” Someone else wrote, “Y’all better not get my girl fired I stg.” I mean you can never be sure that no one would follow her murder advice.
