It’s not always easy working in the customer service industry. While some connections with customers can be fun and even uplifting, there are always certain people who can’t seem to be polite or offer up some understanding during public interactions. Recently, one Michigan woman caught a wild Karen interaction while stepping into a Starbucks for a little treat. Unfortunately, the ordeal turned hostile when one unhappy customer lost her cool in a big way.
In a video posted to TikTok by @official_spicybri, a woman inside a Michigan Starbucks coffee shop is seen going off the rails. The clip immediately starts off with her swinging at a barista behind the counter. When she didn’t make contact with the employee, she decided to take things up a notch.
The Karen, wearing a pair of jeans, a light blue winter jacket, and a royal blue Superman shirt, started grabbing anything she could get her hands on, including things sitting on the counter by the cash register. She then hurled them in the direction of the barista as she screamed obscenities for all to hear. “[Expletive] you!” she yelled as the employee told her to “stop.”

The woman then walked away and headed toward a table where she picked up a bag of some of her belongings. Once she had her goods in hand, she didn’t leave quietly. She turned around and began screaming at the barista yet again.
“Step the [expletive] outside, like I said,” she screamed, adding other colorful words into the mix. However, it seems that the barista decided to take the high road and let the woman leave in order to diffuse the situation.
“Barista gets viciously attacked at Starbucks. Someone please come get they auntie she looks like she needs a chicken sandwich,” the caption of the video read. Of course, TikTok viewers had a lot to say about the nasty confrontation.
“I have noticed this happening more and more. People are angry and taking it out on the world, taking it out on innocent people for the smallest things. Be careful out there,” one person commented on the situation. “If the general public weren’t afraid to get involved, there would be far less outbursts like this. But nobody wants to get arrested for trying to help,” another wrote. “Listen this is AMERICA. So embarrassed to be here,” a third person stated. “I literally need to know how it escalates to this. Like just order your coffee and call it a day. These workers don’t get paid enough for this,” a fourth comment read.
Sadly, encounters like this Michigan Starbucks situation seem to be happening all over, and someone is always there to get it all on camera.
