I keep hearing terrible things about HOA, but I have never heard about an HOA going after a 5-year-old kid because he touched a tree. This is currently happening to a black Florida mom and her kid because of their unhinged and racist Karen. The Karen is at the head of the HOA, and she didn’t like that the poor woman’s kid was touching a tree in the neighborhood. Yes, this is the only reason why she is upset. She is, however, doing an insane thing. According to the mom, the Karen filed a complaint against her kid, and she also decided to take legal action. So she is basically suing a black mom and her 5-year-old kid. The mom is currently trying to fight back. Her first step was to print the lawsuit and give it to her neighbors so they could see how their HOA money was being spent.
The racism of the Florida Karen didn’t stop at the legal action. She is also giving fines to the single mom because of her garbage can. Well, guess what? Other people in the neighborhood should be fined as well, but the Karen doesn’t even go near them. She seems to be targeting this mom and her kid. In another video, the mom said how she had to tell her kid not to touch trees anymore; insane. It’s not just that. The obnoxious Karen also keeps filming him through her window. So she is filming a child, and no one is doing anything.
What’s annoying is that the tree isn’t even on anyone’s property. There are no rules in their HOA that prohibit children from touching or climbing a tree. Instead of letting it go, the Karen is trying to twist an article in the rules that prevent “noxious” and “offensive” activity. How is touching a tree offensive? There is no way that this isn’t racist. It is also a form of retaliation, all because the mom asked the HOA Karen to talk to her instead of talking to her children. So she went ahead and retaliated. She is now describing the poor kid as a “public nuisance.” She even had the audacity to demand that the mom pay her attorney fees.
The Florida Mom Continuing Her Fight
Along with printing the lawsuit and writing letters for her neighbors, the Florida mom also bought flowers. She planned to give every neighbor a flower along with the papers. Unfortunately, she also said that she would have to pay the fees the Karen demanded. You could feel her frustration as she said, “I have to now kiss the [expletive] of the racist White woman in my neighborhood.” It’s either this or she fights back. She chose the latter since she is now planning to join the HOA board and make a change.
In another video, the Florida mom seemed heartbroken as she shared more details about the situation. Apparently, the Karen is also filming the poor kid every day at his bus stop. She wakes up every morning at 7:30 am to film the 5-year-old boy. How is this okay? The mom had taken her son to over 60 houses to hand them the papers and the flowers. She is also considering selling her home and relocating, even if that would result in a loss of money. No one should go through this just because their child touched a tree branch.
People Reacting to the Racist HOA Karen
After listening to the mom’s story, people felt shocked about what was happening. It isn’t reasonable to sue a 5-year-old kid because he touched a tree. This is why one person wrote, “This is wild! Start a go fund me for you legal fees. We got your back!” Another person asked in shock, “What is the complaint in the lawsuit….that he touched a tree????” Someone then pointed out that the kid was hanging from the tree, but they still defended him. “if you actually read the letter she posted, you could possibly say he was hanging from the tree and they don’t want it damaged. EVEN still, that boy was just acting like any child does. Nothing wrong with wanting to climb a tree‼‼ I’ll bet that if that child was white – this wouldn’t be happening. We all know this!” they wrote.
More people sided with the Florida mom and encouraged her to stand up for herself. “Join the HOA! Become the MOST powerful person in the community! You’ve got this sister‼” one woman wrote. Another woman advised her to take legal action as well, saying, “File for a restraining order while you are there.” A former HOA manager also gave her some advice. “Former HOA manager here. Please read your governing documents and find out the process for issuing violation notices. Typically before involving legal communication should’ve been sent from the management company. DO NOT PAY THAT LEGAL FEE. Request a meeting with the entire board or speak up during open forum at meeting. Call them out and don’t give in!” they wrote. Hopefully, the mom would win this fight.
