The current political climate in America has made it normal to see racists in public. A community that has been a victim of that racism is the Latin community. What a Latina woman in Maryland just went through is a good example. Unfortunately for her, while she was on her afternoon run, she came across a woman who could only be described as an unhinged racist Karen. The Latina woman was running when she suddenly saw three dogs off-leash running toward her. Of course, she ran away and hid behind a mailbox since the dogs looked aggressive. At that moment, two young girls came out of the same house that the dogs belonged to. This made the poor woman ask them to call back their dogs. Well, their mother didn’t like that. She came out and started acting like a Karen as she accused the woman of harassing her girls.
The false accusation wasn’t the only thing the Maryland Karen said. She also kept calling the Latina woman several racist names. In a video filmed of the encounter, when the woman asked the Karen not to approach her, her aggression showed as she replied and said, “Don’t threaten me [expletive].” Where was the threat in what she said? The woman repeated that she didn’t threaten the Karen’s daughters, but that didn’t stop her harassment. You start to notice that the obnoxious woman might not be sober because of how she claimed that they were on her property while both of them were actually on the road.
The Maryland victim then tried to put an end to the situation as she started running again. The Karen was definitely determined to harass her because she started running after her. The racism then showed on camera as she started asking her, “Are you illegal? You don’t sound like you’re from this country, are you? What is your citizenship?” The video then ended but the woman’s daughter wrote what allegedly happened next. Her mom called the cops who then confirmed that the Karen was intoxicated. Apparently, she was drunk and on some form of substance as well. It doesn’t seem like the Latina woman was the one who was a danger to the young girls in this situation.
People Reacting to the Racist Maryland Karen
A lot of people believed that the racist Maryland Karen was quite obnoxious. The way she behaved was terrible and this made people criticize her. One woman had to write, “I am fatigued.” Another woman thought that she would act differently if she were ever met with a similar situation. “God knows not to put me in these situations,” she said. This made one person reply and say, “The day this finds me I ain’t holding back my anger. This will fuel the fire in my SOUL‼” Another person asked, “Serious question: at what point does an aggressive person coming towards you become grounds for self defense? Because I’m thinking before they get to arms reach.” Several comments believed that this is assault as someone wrote, “it’s actually considered assault, and you do have a right to REASONABLY defend yourself.”
Other people commented on how the Maryland Karen is just like any other racist. “Why do they always resort to ‘ArE yOu IlEgAl?’” one person asked. Another person replied and said, “They been abusing that ever since what trump did was put in place.” Others found a funny side in this encounter, especially since the Karen actually ran after her victim. “Your mom making her work outt,” one woman wrote. Someone else commented on how she laughed while talking to the Karen. “The fact that your mom couldn’t take her serious and laughed at her lmao,” they said. Some comments, though, were on the serious side as one TikTok user wrote, “Oh no I am so so sorry I hope you are able to press charges this is insane.” Funny or not, no one should go through this.
