While it’s good to express one’s emotions instead, what’s not good is if it’s done in a vehicle on a highway where people’s lives are at risk, though one Utah driver thought himself the exception. Driving in a Jeep behind another car, he wasn’t pleased with its speed and zipped past them for the classic yet dangerous brake-check. To top it off, he backed straight into the other driver before zooming off.
Al_Tilly_the_Bum, the Reddit user who was driving the victim of the Jeep driver’s hit-and-run, shared footage of the incident on r/IdiotsInCars in 2025. Though the video was reuploaded by OldNorth7339 on r/dashcams, the outrage it stirred among other Redditors was as if it had been taken yesterday. Fortunately, OP claims the culprit was later tracked down and arrested.
“I’m so happy this POS got what he deserved. License plate clear as day,” cheered a commenter. “Backing into someone because they weren’t driving fast enough is a wild level of entitlement,” remarked another. “Everyone talks about BMWs starting road rage, but the Jeeps are just as bad,” quipped a third.
“The fact that you cooled off and didn’t engage is good on you, man. ” It’s not worth it,” commented a fourth, praising the dashcam owner. At the end of the video, the driver can be heard taking deep breaths to calm himself instead of retaliating, something the Jeep driver could have practiced to avoid being arrested.
In the story that has now resurfaced, Al_Tilly_the_Bum said that he wasn’t actually involved in the Jeep driver’s arrest at all. “The officer said he was arrested a few days later at his home. I checked out the county jail and verified he was there,” he claimed. In other words, someone else allegedly reported the road rager on his behalf, which is a good reminder for such drivers that eyes are always watching.
As one commenter said several months ago, “With all the cameras around these days, it’s wild that people think they can get away with things like this.”
