Las Vegas, Nevada, is arguably one of the wildest places in America. Aside from the obvious gambling scene, you’ll often run into plenty of drunk people wandering the streets. Another common sight on the Las Vegas Strip is the showgirls, dressed in their eye-catching, over-the-top outfits, hoping to charm tourists and pose for photos. Of course, with alcohol flowing freely, emotions can run high, and sometimes things take an unexpected turn. Recently, one strange and unpleasant incident took place right on the Las Vegas Strip. Thankfully, it wasn’t a case of a man sexually harassing a showgirl, but it was still a troubling scene to witness.
In this particular case, a woman who for some reason seemed to have a grudge against one of the showgirls began behaving bizarrely. The video of the encounter starts with the woman holding up her phone, apparently recording the showgirl, while the showgirl herself was filming the outburst in return. The woman repeatedly mocked and taunted the showgirl, who calmly told her to back off and keep her distance.
At one point, the woman even began twerking at the showgirl for no clear reason, moving around in a jittery, erratic way as if trying to dance. While that was strange enough, the most insulting moment came when the woman suddenly decided to spit at the showgirl.
The aggressive woman wasn’t alone either, she had a friend with her who also seemed to be joining in the harassment, though she kept a little more distance from the showgirls. A man walking by noticed the commotion and stepped in to ask the showgirls what was going on. One of them replied that they had no idea who the woman was, only that she had started acting hostile out of nowhere.
Finally, one of the showgirls, clearly fed up, decided to defend herself by pulling out a pepper spray canister and trying to spray the woman, who immediately turned and ran. The confrontation quickly escalated from there, with both sides shouting at each other.
The showgirl filming the encounter kept asking what these women wanted and why they were harassing her. In response, the other woman’s friend lunged toward the camerawoman, hitting her phone in the process. The video ended with that same friend taking off her shoes and hitting the showgirl again with them. It’s unclear what happened afterward, though it’s likely the situation continued to escalate, perhaps even to the point where Las Vegas police had to get involved.
Internet users who watched the video were understandably baffled as to why these two Las Vegas women decided to pick a fight with the showgirls in the first place. Still, the general consensus online was one of disgust toward their behavior. “Yikes, that’s just nasty,” one user commented. Another joked, “So, so disappointing we didn’t get to see a direct hit with the pepper spray, what a wasted opportunity.”
