Many women believe that nothing compares to the pain of giving birth, so the last thing any expectant mother wants is to prolong that pain. Unfortunately, one pregnant woman in Arizona had to endure just that. Before going into labor, most women count on their nurse to tell them when it’s time to head to the hospital. Usually, once contractions are coming every three to five minutes for about an hour, that’s the cue to go. But the Arizona woman’s nurse never told her that. For some reason, she misled her instead of letting her give birth. Even though the mom was having contractions 1-2 minutes apart, the nurse told her not to come in. Her advice was only to come in when she can’t talk through her contractions.
The Arizona woman trusted her nurse’s advice, not realizing that she was already in active labor. Based on the information she had, she decided to clean her house until active labor started, and then she would go to the hospital. Since she should have already been there, the entire cleaning video showed her struggling and in pain. She could talk, but not without feeling pain. It’s honestly amazing that she managed to clean several parts of her kitchen during this. When the pain became unbearable, she called her husband to go to the hospital. She ended up spending four hours in active labor. The good thing is that she had her baby, who is healthy, and everything is good. Unfortunately, the nurse misled her, knowing she lived 40 minutes away from the hospital.
People Reacting to the Arizona Pregnant Woman’s Story
Almost everyone agreed that the nurse was completely wrong when it came to the advice she gave the Arizona woman. Since the nurse basically let her go home while she was in active labor, one woman wrote, “The nurse that said that did you dirty.” Another woman wasn’t that nice as she said, “I just wanna say [expletive] that nurse‼” You could tell the nurse didn’t have many fans. Some people even believed that the nurse should be sued. “I fear the nurse needs to be sued,” one person wrote. A nurse also commented, pointing out that the Arizona woman’s nurse had given her misinformation. “L&D nurse here, that was misinformation. Once your contractions are regular and 3-5 minutes apart for at least an hour, go in‼‼” she wrote. She is lucky that she made it just in time.
Aside from criticizing the Arizona nurse, many comments admired the mom. “Girl you labored and cleaned your kitchen… you are super women! Congratulations‼” one woman wrote. Another woman said in shock, “We just watched this woman clean her house while she’s in active labor.” One person also joked about the situation as they said, “1-2 mins apart!?!? GIRL‼! You’re lucky the baby wasn’t birthed on your sparkling clean floor.” That would have been crazy. Another person agreed with this, saying, “The beginning of the video should’ve been her at the hospital not doing a spring cleaning.” Someone else then said, “Bestie. You should of left at the start of this video.” What matters here is that she and her baby are safe. Let’s hope that the nurse won’t give the same advice to other women.
