The team currently working on Until Dawn, Ballistic Moon, and Sony Interactive Entertainment have announced the release date of the enhanced version of the game coming to PlayStation 5 and PC. The rebuilt and improved version of Until Dawn will come out on October 4, 2024.
Until Dawn was originally developed by Supermassive Games and came out in 2015, but the remaster is being made by British studio Ballistic Moon. The new version comes with a few bells and whistles, the ones confirmed by Ballistic Moon include some accessibility settings, usability improvements, and even some gameplay changes. The Don’t Move mechanic now has an optional alternative called Stay Calm that supports third-party peripherals that might suit the playstyle of some players.
If you haven’t had a chance to play Until Dawn, the PlayStation 5 and PC remaster is a good place to start. It is a horror game in which your decisions dictate the narrative. Like every slasher flick, the game begins with friends stranded on a mountain lodge who have to fight to survive. Every character can live or die depending on the choices made by the player. The cast includes Rami Malek and Hayden Panettiere, among others.
A movie adaptation of Until Dawn started filming this month and is being directed by David F. Sandberg, known for his work on Shazam, Lights Out, and Annabelle: Creation. The cast in the movie is completely new and will not include any of the familiar faces from the game.
In other Supermassive Games news, the studio announced a delay for its upcoming horror title, Little Nightmares 3. Originally planned for release in 2024, the team decided to push it into 2025 to make sure it got the development time it deserved. So far, the actual release date has not been confirmed, but we will likely find out soon enough.
