In August, developer House House announced that its break-out hit, Untitled Goose Game, would be receiving a free multiplayer upgrade. Along with that news, the studio teased a physical edition release. Those physical editions are now available, though only for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. While Xbox and PC players will sadly miss out, fans may be interested in checking out the array of goodies for each version. The standard edition is available through most major retailers. However, there is also an environmentally friendly version exclusive to iam8bit.com.
The standard boxed edition of Untitled Goose Game retails at $34.99 on Nintendo Switch and $29.99 for PlayStation 4. It comes with a 24-page Spring/Summer edition of the Plaza Catalogue, which showcases items that a “goose might enjoy collecting.” It also includes a “No Goose” sticker and an 11″ x 17″ poster of the game’s map hand-illustrated by artist and game developer Marigold Bartlett.
The Environmentally Friendly Untitled Goose Game
The “Lovely Edition” of Untitled Goose Game is available only through iam8bit and includes all the above collectibles. Environmentally cautious collectors may be more interested in this edition. Both the Switch and PS4 versions include a sugar-based, non-toxic, no-vinyl version of the “No Goose” sticker as well as booklets and posters made from 100% recyclable materials. Each is also wrapped in eco-friendly biolefin shrinkwrap. Additionally, the PS4 version’s outer packaging is 100% post-consumer material using non-toxic, 0% VOC inks. The Switch’s “Lovely Edition” is $39.99 while the PS4’s is $34.99.
In addition to the physical editions, an eco-friendly vinyl soundtrack is available. Dan Golding adapted famous composer Claude Debussy’s Preludes for Untitled Goose Game. And this vinyl release is highly unique. It is made of recycled vinyl, which means the color for each record will be a surprise. It also has a “Double Groove” pressing that will result in a random playback experience every time you listen. This replicates the reactive nature of the soundtrack in-game. It also comes packaged in a 100% recycled jacket.
