This is a great t-shirt! The graphic is nice and it displays one of the favorite quotes from Doctor Who, “Geronimo!”. (Every time I hear that word I want to break out into this song by Sheppard….Warning: It gets stuck in your head!)
Geronimo! What is the meaning of that word? The online Urban Dictionary gives us two definitions. First, Geronimo can be a “exclamation or cheer, with suicidal tendencies.” They also offer some interesting synonyms for the word which include synonyms: banzai, here goes, wooo, and, my favorite, “oh crap.”
Geronimo is also the name of a Chiricahua Apache leader, who raided Mexican and American settlement from 1876-1886, working against the U.S. government.
Obviously, from the graphic on this awesome t-shirt, we are not talking about an Apache Leader. We are talking about Doctor Who. Do you know when we first heard the word “Geronimo” on Doctor Who? It was in the episode, “The End of Time, Part Two.” This is where we meet the Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith. He has just regenerated and realizes he is in a crashing Tardus! He cries out, “Geronimo!”.
How is that for a little History?
Now, unfortunately, you may not be able to specifically ask for this particular shirt.
