Luckily for all vampires, V Rising has extremely useful plants that can help them craft new armor, create undead creatures, and even brew powerful potions. One of those plants is the Mourning Lily in V Rising, which, with enough seeds, you can make your farm and forget about spending hours outside your base to get this herb. However, those without the proper ingredients to start cultivating this flower must first face a few foes and explore some creepy locations.
How To Get Mourning Lily Seeds and Plants in V Rising
In V Rising, there are several ways to obtain Mourning Lily and its seeds for farming. You’ll find that the starting area is a fantastic place for this plant, which will make your gathering process much more efficient and safer. We’ll start by listing each location and enemy that holds this flower, and then we’ll guide you on how to plant it at your base.
Obtaining the Plant
If you want to get the plant as a whole, which is the easiest way during the early hours, you should visit any cemeteries in the starting area. To make sure a place has this plant, hover over the area with your cursor to see which loot you’ll get. I recommend sticking to the Infested Cemetery on the eastern side of the map, as it has a good amount of Mourning Lily to gather.
Defeating Mantraps, the enemies that usually spawn in the starting area, is another way to obtain the plant. These foes are level 26, so it’s important to increase your gear score before facing them. If you’re playing at a lower difficulty, they shouldn’t pose too much of a challenge. However, we recommend gearing up first. While the easiest way to obtain the whole plant is by visiting cemeteries, if you’re ready to start your own farm, there’s another method.
Gathering Seeds
There are two ways to obtain Mourning Lily seeds for your farm in V Rising: safe and dangerous. The safe method is to find a Shady Herb Dealer and buy seeds for 36 pieces of copper. While safe, it can be a bit expensive, especially if you don’t have enough currency. But if you do, we recommend spending your copper on these seeds.
The second way is by defeating Treants. These enemies are level 36 and will pose a threat. They hit like a truck and chase you relentlessly, but if you have a good gear score, they shouldn’t be too challenging. Once you defeat them, there’s a chance they’ll drop a few Mourning Lily seeds, meaning you can now make your farm at your base.
Starting Your Farm
Once you have enough seeds, follow these steps to create your Mourning Lily farm in V Rising:
- Place an Exterior Growing Plot by going to the Production menu.
- Alternatively, you can unlock more Growing Plots by defeating Polora the Feywalker, who is level 35.
- Place any Growing Plot and interact with it while holding your Mourning Lily seeds.
- You have to wait a while until the seeds grow into plants, and then harvest them with any of your tools, preferably your sword or axe.
Mourning Lily Recipes
Once you have your permanent Mourning Lily farm in V Rising, you can craft any of these items:
- Pollen x10 (Requires Mourning Lily x20 and a Grinder)
- Gravedigger Ring x1 (Requires Mourning Lily x40, Grave Dust x8, and a Workbench)
- Minor Sun Resistance Brew x1 (Requires Mourning Lily x20, Blood Rose x20, Filled Waterskin x1, and an Alchemy Table)
- Ghoul x1 (Requires Mourning Lily x12 and a Tomb)
I recommend saving your Mourning Lily for the Sun Resistance Brew. If you like exploring even under the burning sun, having these potions will reduce sun damage considerably. If not, you can use them to get as many Ghouls as possible and Pollen for certain recipes.
