This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Some of the mobile bosses in V Rising are elusive, but at least you could track them. Then there’s Nibbles the Putrid Rat. It’s the only boss in the game which you can’t track for some reason and the game won’t tell you where to find it. You need Nibbles though for that highly convenient Rat Form to help you be more stealthy. To cut your search short, here’s how and where to find Nibbles the Putrid Rat in V Rising.

Nibbles isn’t anywhere on the map so you can stop manually searching or heading back to the starting crypt if you thought the rat was there.

There’s no tracking Nibbles locations as well. That’s because Nibbles is only available through the Vermin Nest building. That means you need a functioning base in order to summon and fight Nibbles.

Building the Vermin Nest is part of the main quest, however, if you want to get there faster, here’s a step-by-step process:

  1. Build a base by placing your Castle Heart. No need to set up foundations or flooring.
  2. In the build menu, select ‘Production’ and then ‘Refinement.’ You’ll find the Vermin Nest building there.
  3. To build the Vermin Nest, you Stone and Bone (the amount depends on the difficulty level). Stone is obtainable nearly everywhere and you can obtain Bone by killing enemies.
  4. I recommend placing the Vermin Nest in a spot far from your Castle Heart since Nibbles is a boss and you’ll fight him right away after summoning him.

Once you have your Vermin Nest building, simply select it and check the third item on the production options. That would be the recipe for summoning Nibbles the Putrid Rat.

You’re going to need the following to summon Nibbles:

  • Grave Dust (obtainable by refining Bones in a Grinder building).
  • Unsullied Heart (obtainable from human enemies).

It’s a bit tricky finding Unsullied Heart if you’re just starting out, but do note that you can farm it from unfortunate Worker humans who are typically unarmed and barely fight back.

As for fighting Nibbles, it’s a straightforward affair as long as your gear level is anywhere near or past 30. You just want to make sure Nibbles doesn’t run off. In case it defeats you, you can respawn at your base anyway (just don’t tell anyone that a rat beat you up). Sadly, the only reward for defeating Nibbles in V Rising is the Rat Form, but it’s convenient for getting past towns.

V Rising is available on the PC and PlayStation platforms.
