The Hearth and Home update for the Viking survival game Valheim introduced several new improvements and features, from weapon tuning to graphical tweaks. One of the new types of furniture that was added was a hot tub. This new addition can pull your whole base together as well as provide a bit of comfort for you and your partners. This guide will show you how to make and use a hot tub in Valheim.

How to Make and Use a Hot Tub in Valheim

To craft the hot tub, you first need to get the required supplies. This includes 20 pieces of wood, six pieces of tar, eight pieces of stone, and 10 pieces of iron. For the wood, you can use an axe to cut down any of the many trees found in Valheim. Getting stone is similar, just an pickaxe on some rocks. Getting yourself iron bars and tar will take going on a little trip. Head to the tar pits found in the Plains biome. Beware of the growth enemies found at this location, bring some weaponry for this excursion. For the iron, head to Valheim‘s Swamp Crypts. You will need to kill The Elder to get the key to this location, but once you get there, destroy the piles found at the Crypts and take them back to your forge to break down into iron.

Once you have all your supplies, go to where you want to place down the hot tub and equip your hammer. Right clicking will bring up the build menu and from there just head over to the “Furniture” section. Here is where you will find the hot tub. Left click on the hot tub to place it down and construct it. The hot tub will raise the base’s comfort level, but using it isn’t as easy as going for a quick dip. To get the steam going you have to burn wood at the furnace on the tub. Once the water is hot, you can enjoy yourself in the newest addition to the Valheim experience: chilling in a hot tub with you fellow Vikings.

Valheim is out now for PC via Steam.
