Series one was premised on a terrorist campaign that threatened to destroy normalcy in London over the summer. Lana, a former military bomb disposal expert, leads a team charged to neutralize the terrorist threat.
Nearly 11 million viewers tuned in to watch the first episode. The series averaged 9.24 million viewers through its four episodes. It was broadcasted on ITV, ITVX, and Britbox.
Although fans were unhappy with the series one finale, a second series was sanctioned on February 27, 2022.

Vicky McClure Films Trigger Point
Vicky McClure portrays the lead character Lana Washington. On Tuesday, the 39-year-old actress was spotted in North London filming scenes for series two of ITV’s Trigger Point.
McClure was “battle ready” as she donned black protective gear. The regalia was complimented by a black sturdy helmet with its protective eye mask lifted to expose her dashing blue eyes.
The outfit was combined with black leather fingerless gloves which helped her to hold onto an electronic tablet firmly. McClure shared the pictures of her on set on her official Instagram page.
The actress was seen alongside other crew members of ITV’s Trigger Point including co-star Mark Stanley, who portrays DI Thom Youngblood.
McClure shared the pictures with her 721,000 Instagram followers two days after she was spotted on the set of the London-based crime thriller.
Work was the focus on “Trigger Point” set, as the star also shared some pictures of her enjoying some downtime. In one of the pictures, McClure and show producer Jed Mercurio flash their white teeth while smiling from cheek to cheek.
In the picture, McClure’s helmet was off, exposing her brunette hair. Co-star Eric Shango who portrays Danny photobombs the pair by cheekily flashing a peace sign in the background.
The post had several other images including one of a nodding dog toy that brought back sweet memories from series one for fans. She wrote in the caption:
“Back with another bang…Trigger Point series two incoming!”
Newcomer Daniel Brierley is the writer of ITV’s Trigger Point and produced by Jed’s HTM Television. Series two of the crime thriller will be available for viewing later this year.
