The singer, who is a protégé of Coldplay’s Chris Martin, has shut down rumors that she and Cruise are romantically involved. The pair have been hanging out frequently in recent times, causing fans to speculate. However, Canal maintains they are strictly platonic.
In an Instagram post, the 25-year-old set the record straight. She posted a photo of her covering her mouth in shock alongside screenshots of articles reporting on the rumors. “guys, this is literally bonkers, but apparently, the tabloids think I am dating Tom Cruise. I’m deceased.💀 Let’s just stop this in its tracks,” she declared. The Spanish native further explained:
“I’m sorry to bum u out but I am not dating the man, albeit a lovely person & artist. lol never thought I would have to clarify that out loud in my life. y’all.”
Canal, however, found a silver lining in the rumors, saying it is the first time she has been referred to by her full name and not “one-armed pianist whose name remains unmentioned!!” The Yes Man singer was born without a right forearm and hand due to a condition called amniotic band syndrome. The artist joked, “There’s always a win somewhere. Thanks, Tom.” Canal then showered praises on Cruise and how he has handled himself during their interactions.
“In all seriousness guys, Tom has been nothing but a respectful and encouraging person and mentor, much like chris martin, my dad, my music teachers and other wise people.”

Victoria Canal’s post comes weeks after she and the Mission Impossible actor were seen flying around London in a helicopter. In an Instagram post, she gushed about Cruise flying her and her brother to the premiere of Twisters in London just a week after their first meeting.
The pair first crossed paths in June backstage at the Glastonbury festival, where Coldplay was the headliner. Shortly after, they became close, with the 62-year-old inviting her onto the set of Mission: Impossible 8 in Oxfordshire in a move that was described as “bizarre” by a close source. The insider told The Sun about Cruise and Canal:
“Tom invited Victoria to watch him film for the whole day and that is just not something he does for his random friends.”
The source added, “They are pretty much inseparable. They have been seeing a lot of one another and Victoria is beautiful. It’s all been happening in plain sight.”
