It has now been 3 years since the Xbox One and Playstation 4 were released in 2013. Since then, some games have continued to release on both these new platforms, and the previous generations hardware. While others have embraced this new technology and moved on from the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Well it is now time for Telltale and The Walking Dead to do the same.
When The Walking Dead: A New Frontier releases on December 20th, it will not be releasing on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, like previous entries in the series have. It was once thought that they would, but Telltale cleared the air in an announcement today.
Some individuals have expressed concern, worried that their saves and specific choices, made in the first two Walking Dead games, will be isolated on the previous generation. Players can use a Telltale account to bring their saves over to either the Playstation 4 or Xbox One.
As always gamers will be offered several ways in which to enjoy this experience. For $4.99 USD episode one can be purchased singularly or the season pass containing all five future episodes will be available for $24.99 USD. The game will release on PC, Xbox One, PS4, iOS, and Android.
For those who would rather wait for a physical copy, for $29.99 USD, Telltale is releasing a disc version of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier on February 7th. The physical copy will provide access to each of the episodes as they become available.
A New Frontier is the third game in the mainline series, which has also seen single episode spinoff 400 Days and a miniseries focusing on the character Michonne.
