The Marvel Universe is on a roll. Developing new stories that destroy everything we believed in superhero stories as children. Last year, Donny Cates created Cosmic Ghost Rider. This opened a door in the Marvel Universe that would turn everything upside down. Here we have a new storyline releasing later this year called War of the Realms. Every thought you have ever had about your favorite Marvel hero, prepare for it to be demolished. The War of the Realms series takes the Marvel Universe to new heights and dare I say maybe even new multi-verses! Here’s a statement made from Marvel’s website about the premise of the entire collection.
“Malekith, the Dark Elf, has been rampaging across the Realms for years, and now he’s coming for Midgard. There, the Super Heroes of the Marvel Universe make their final stand, and a war begins.”
Jason Aaron has been working on The War of the Realms project for a long time. As the writer for Thor: God of Thunder, he has been developing ways for this to explode on the Marvel Page. Aaron will be including major Marvel heroes like Wolverine, Iron Man, Captain America, She-Hulk, Black Panther, Ghost Rider, Doctor Strange, Luke Cage and Blade throughout the entire collection. Many more heroes to come of course but with a list like that most readers have to wonder if Aaron is insane or ingenious.
The beginning of this off the rails story will be released April 3, 2019. The first book will be War of the Realms #1. Continuing until issue #6 then the fun begins with inclusions in Thor, Venom, Avengers, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, and a few other titles. I think Marvel just took its best heroes and threw them in the pot to see what flavors would boil.
Nevertheless, it couldn’t be a more exciting time for the Marvel Universe. This combination of heroes coming together to battle throughout the Marvel Universe shines a proud light on Stan Lee and everything he gave his fans. Be on the lookout for more information on The War of the Realms!
