This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Ever since Warframe players saw the teasers and trailers for the new Proto-Warframes, there has been no shortage of community queries and nagging about Warframe 1999‘s release date. It’s not quite here yet. But the Warframe 1999 demo is right around the corner as it’s set to be released on October 16, 2024.

Bear in mind that this is only a teaser demo and should be a brief experience. However, it will allow you to check out the new features ahead of the actual Warframe 1999 release. For the record, Warframe 1999 is slated for around Winter 2024.

As for the Warframe 1999 demo, it will take players through the early stages and a small area of the expansion. It’s also a chance for players to try out the new vehicle system, as they’ll presumably be allowed to drive around the 1999 demo area with Arthur’s hot rod big bike.

On top of that, expect to run into some small firefights while controlling Arthur, or Proto-Excalibur. Players can also employ a variety of modified modern-age weaponry, such as a rocket launcher against tanks and other low-tech-sci-fi enemies.

Free Sword Skin for Demo Finishers

There are more rewards than getting to play the demo itself, of course. If you complete the Warframe 1999 demo, you’ll be rewarded with a “Protokol Longsword” skin. You can use it for Skana or other swords to give them a more “contemporary” appearance. It has a bloody cloth tied around the blade and a textured grip reminiscent of modern knives

This sword skin will likely be limited to players who completed the demo and something they can flaunt like a badge of honor. Apart from the Warframe 1999 demo, the Tokyo Game Show 2024 Devstream for Warfarme also revealed an interesting emote for the Aoi Proto-Mag Warframe. It lets her switch between the futuristic mag and the Proto-skin.

You can expect the same emote and function for the other Proto-Warframes in Warframe 1999. Again, you’ll be able to play the Warframe 1999 demo on October 16, 2024. Until then, sit tight and keep busy with the Koumei & The Five Fates update.
