Min-maxing is a huge part of the Warframe endgame, and one such mod allows most of the high-ranking players to cut their boss-farming time shorter. That mod would be none other than the famed and notorious Primed Chamber. Its uses are limited, however. Some of you might be wondering why it costs so much Platinum despite the rather restricted applications. So here’s an explanation and a Warframe Primed Chamber guide along with how to obtain one.
Warframe Primed Chamber Uses
Primed Chamber is a rare mod in Warframe that’s made specifically for Sniper Primary weapons. It won’t work on any other weapon type.
Here’s the full list of guns with which you can use Primed Chamber:
- Komorex
- Lanka
- Perigale
- Rubico/Prime
- Snipetron/Vandal
- Sporothrix
- Vectis/Prime
- Vulkar/Wraith
That’s it. A mere eight weapons can benefit from Primed Chamber (12 if you count the variants).
To take full advantage of Primed Chamber in Warframe, you have to keep reloading after each shot, which can be tricky as some of these aforementioned Sniper Primaries have long reload times. That also means you might want to pair Primed Chamber with an Exilus mod that reduces reload time or increases reload speed.
As for why you’d want your first shot to deal double, it has its uses in Eidolon hunting, where Sniper Primaries are almost mandatory. But other than that, you won’t generally see much practical use for Primed Chamber.
Why It’s Expensive & Where to Get It
The funny thing is, Primed Chamber is still an expensive, rare mod to trade for despite the niche uses. That’s because it is an actual rare mod, even though Baro Ki’teer sells Primed Chamber from time to time. Just wait for him to arrive every two weeks. That’s where you should obtain your Primed Chamber mod (though his inventory can be random).
Any other method of acquisition, such as trading with other players, will be expensive since Primed Chamber still goes for 350-400 Platinum these days.
If you can’t wait for Baro, however, you can always bite the bullet and trade for Primed Chamber using Platinum if you really want it. Those prices in trading are relatively low compared to Primed Chamber’s trading price several years ago.
The Primed Chamber Drama
Back in 2013, the Primed Chamber was so rare since it was given to the top 100 players in the now-defunct Informant Event.
For years, players have traded Primed Chamber for hundreds of thousands of Platinum (worth thousands of real-life US Dollars at least) just to get this rare mod in their collection. That went on up to the point when the Primed Chamber price crashed in 2020 since the developers added Primed Chamber to an in-game merchant’s rotating inventory (Baro Ki’teer).
That meant an infinite supply of Primed Chamber, making it significantly cheaper. Now, everyone, including you, can have access to Primed Chamber, not just a mere 100 players. That’s how it goes in this economy.
