Dante, the 56th Warframe is out now. Right away, we can tell that he’s one of the best there is in Warframe. The new sorcerer-themed Warframe takes cues from popular anime characters like Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen, who just cleaves and cuts everything to shreds. That’s the gist of Dante’s playstyle. Of course, to get to that fun point in the game, a good Warframe Dante build is necessary, and here it is. If you want Steel Path viability, it’s a bit expensive to build.
Warframe Dante Build Guide | Mods, Arcanes, Archon Shards
You can achieve this build in as little as three Forma, by the way. The only expensive parts are the Primed mods and the Arcanes (which is recommended if you want to tackle Void Steel Path content).
Don’t worry, as we’ll be presenting some cheap alternatives to the more expensive mods. Here’s the mod configuration:
Mod Name | Effect | Alternative |
Growing Power (Aura) | On Status Effect with Weapon: Squad increases personal Ability Strength by 25% for 6s. | Corrosive Projection for armored enemies |
Power Drift (Exilus) | +15% Ability Strength +30% Chance to Resist Knockdown | Cunning Drift for more Range |
Overextended | +90% Ability Range -60% Ability Strength | Augur Reach, but you get significantly less range |
Precision Intensify | +90% Ability Strength for your 4th Ability | Umbral/Intensify but your 4th Ability’s nuke will be weaker |
Primed Flow | +185% Energy Max | Regular Flow, Dante needs this as he’s Energy-hungry |
Equilibrium | Health pickups give +110% Energy. Energy pickups give +110% Health. | Energy Nexus, or any other damage mod like Intensify |
Blind Rage | +99% Ability Strength -55% Ability Efficiency | No alternative but you don’t need to max out its ranking around 7 or 8 is enough |
Transient Fortitude | +55% Ability Strength -27.5% Ability Duration | For even more Strength. You can slot in Intensify or Augur Secrets instead if you don’t want the negative Duration |
Stretch | +45% Ability Range | Cheap mod, so no alternative is needed |
Streamline | +30% Ability Efficiency | To help counteract Blind Rage. But you can replace it with Primed/Continuity if you have no problems with Energy |
The idea is to give Dante as much Ability Strength and Range as possible because he’s a nuker frame. He deals huge damage in an area, and you want to play to his strengths. More Ability Strength also helps him stack up Overguard for tankiness.
Also, feel free to replace Dante’s 1st Ability with a Subsumed Rhino’s Roar. This replacement is optional since you might like his Noctua Exalted Weapon.
Arcanes for the Dante Build
This is where the build gets significantly more expensive. Dante is Energy-hungry since you constantly need to spam his 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Abilities.
For that matter, you likely already know what he needs for smooth Steel Path gameplay:
- Arcane Energize
You don’t need a Rank 5, even a Rank 3 or 4 is enough. That would set you back around 900 to 1,000 Platinum. Pretty expensive. However, you can always try out alternatives like the Zenurik Energy pool, Energy Nexus mod, or the Xata Invocation Tome Mod. They won’t be as potent as Arcane Energize, sadly.
The second Arcane slot can be anything you want. But we recommend:
- Molt Augmented
That should give even more Ability Strength.
Archon Shards for the Dante Build
The good news is that you can now get Tauforged Archon Shards by combining three regular Archon Shards.
Gearing up is easier than ever for Dante and all Warframes. Give him the following colors, and they should ideally be all Tauforged:
- (Important) 2x Amber Archon Shard with Casting Speed – Two Tauforged Ambers will give a 75 percent increased Casting Speed. That should fix Dante’s dangerously slow casting animation.
- 3x Crimson Archon Shard with Ability Strength – More Strength, more damage.
Playstyle for Our Warframe Dante Build
Here’s the fun part. Dante is a spellcaster Warframe and needs no weapons to kill legions of enemies (including Steel Path Eximus units). You’ll be spending most of your time juggling between his “spells.”
But here’s a step-by-step process to help you simplify gameplay.
- Top up your Energy at the start of each mission, either with Zenurik or Squad Energy Restore.
- If you replaced Dante’s 1st Ability with Roar, cast it before anything else.
- Cast Dante’s 2nd Ability twice in quick succession.
- Cast Dante’s 4th Ability afterward.
- Ideally, keep repeating Steps 3 and 4 until you get the maximum Overguard value. (Note: you don’t have to keep repeating them if you’re under enemy fire already or to save Energy).
- Now, it’s time to cleave enemies. Cast Dante’s 3rd Ability twice in quick succession.
- Cast Dante’s 4th Ability afterward. This will kill the majority of enemies on screen.
- Keep repeating Steps 6 and 7 to clear the screen.
- Make sure to pick up Energy and Health orbs.
- If your Overguard value goes below 5,000 or a certain threshold you’re not comfortable with, repeat Steps 2 and 3 until you have maximum Overguard.
- Occasionally (every minute or so), you might want to cast the 3rd Ability, 2nd Ability, and 4th Ability (in that strict order) for crowd control.
It looks complicated, but you’ll get used to this rhythmic spellcasting in as little as one quick mission. It’s also a fast sequence despite the number of steps. The additional Casting Speed does wonders for this Warframe Dante build. Don’t sling spells without it.
