This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Good news, fans! The Rebirth Island is back in Warzone! We knew this was coming since its announcement at the Call of Duty Next event back in 2023, but it wasn’t confirmed as to which season will be receiving the content. With a brand new trailer, however, we are looking at a slightly different-looking Rebirth Island return in Warzone Season 3.

For old fans of Call of Duty, Rebirth Island was first introduced in Black Ops 1 in 2010, as a part of a story mission called the “Rebirth.” This is where Victor Reznov/Alex Mason kills Frederick Steiner for good. And 10 years later we see the map return in Warzone.

Rebirth Island was added alongside Verdansk as a tactical map, introducing the Resurgence game mode for those who like a more chaotic experience in the battle royale game. The map was in Warzone for more than two years, reimagined in Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard. However, the new iteration of the map looks more similar to the one from the MW 2019 era, tying the story to the MW3 timeline.

First, we get to see the map the way it looked before from a bird’s-eye view. But, as the trailer goes on, we get to see Makarov, the current villain of the Modern Warfare games get introduced into the mix. In addition, Rebirth Island gets damaged in Warzone. Makarov goes inside the Rebirth’s prison POI, and then the roof gets blown and a car drives in.

Another big change that happens to the Warzone Rebirth Island map in this Season 3 trailer is that the lighthouse POI also gets destroyed by an airstrike. Makarov is behind the story of this season, and seemingly he’s trying to save a comrade from the prison, destroying a part of the map in the process.

For what it’s worth, Rebirth Island is returning to Warzone in Season 3, and we get to deploy on this map on April 3. We’ll probably receive another trailer showing the story behind this occurrence on the map as we get closer to the release. Lastly though, the Resurgence Ranked Play may shift to Rebirth Island, allowing Fortune’s Keep to be in the normal playlist maps’ rotation.
