Dolores Catania has been a mainstay on the Real Housewives of New Jersey for years. Although the reality star isn’t a series OG, she’s been around the group since day one. She later joined the regular cast during Season 7 and, from her first scene, quickly became a fan favorite. Throughout her years on Bravo, Dolores has been involved in quite a few quarrels, and watchers have come to expect it from her. However, watchers may have seen the last of it during Season 14.
During an interview with People, Dolores revealed that the Real Housewives of New Jersey aren’t returning in 2025, and she’s not happy about it.
Is Dolores Returning To Real Housewives of New Jersey?
“We didn’t film last season, so we’re not coming back,” Dolores recently revealed about the Real Housewives of New Jersey’s 15th season. “We’re not going to be airing in January or February.” The reality star continued, saying that she was quite “mad” that “everybody couldn’t get it together.”
After Season 14 wrapped production, Bravo and Andy Cohen announced that the series would be put on pause. But why?
Well, after years of incessant fighting between Teresa and her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga, fans decided they had seen enough. Audience members began calling for a complete overhaul, which made the bosses stop and wonder. The show is now being revamped ahead of its milestone 15th season. However, their return won’t be any time soon. Andy recently shared that the network was in “no rush” to bring Jersey back to the small screen. “We are taking our time,” he said.
Melissa Doesn’t Want to Film Jersey if Teresa Is There
It’s still too early to know who Bravo will decide to bring back to the refreshed cast of RHONJ. However, one clear thing is that Melissa doesn’t plan to return if Teresa is still there. During a chat with Tamra Judge on her podcast, MelGo said if Bravo chose the “darker … route,” then she’d turn down the chance to return. “I do want to be on [RHONJ]. I do not want to be on that toxic sh*t, so as long as she is there, [I won’t be.]”
Meanwhile, some of Melissa’s cast mates, mainly Jennifer Aydin, disagree with her. When the controversial reality star spoke about the show’s future in an interview, she said there’s no way Jersey could continue without Teresa. “It takes time to get invested in new characters,” she said before saying Tre has been there from the start. I believe [if] they were going to keep anybody, for sure, I would say Teresa,” she said. “I don’t think the show could be Housewives of New Jersey with a few of us and not Teresa.”
What Other Bravo Shows Are on Pause?
Dolores isn’t the only Bravo star who has to worry about returning to the Real Housewives. In addition to Jersey, the network paused the Real Housewives of Dubai after two seasons. When Andy was asked about the nature of Dubai’s pause, he didn’t say much. However, he assured fans that he has “love” for the series and appreciates “what we built there.” In a separate interview, he said the show’s hiatus is simply a “business” decision. “We have a lot of Housewives going right now. And it’s one of the reasons it took so long to get The Real Housewives of Atlanta going and one of the reasons we’re in a deep pause with The Real Housewives of New Jersey. We just want to make sure we get everything right and be very deliberate with everything we’re doing.”
