Sure, some influencers can be particularly annoying. I’m sure you’ve seen TikToks of popular influencers being obnoxious toward people, disrespecting popular landmarks, and more. But what about those who are simply minding their own business? Recently, a Washington influencer was reviewing some delicious food finds at a grocery market. She was shocked when a man approached her to tell her he was secretly watching and laughing at her. Even if he was trying to be cute, it wasn’t working.
Michelle (@michellevillafilipina) posted a TikTok video at an Asian market in Seattle, Washington. She was minding her own business, enjoying her food, and recording herself eating it. While eating and filming in peace, a man suddenly approached her table. He decided to tell Michelle, “I’m just laughing at you.” When she asked him, “Why?” he acted like he never said anything. He then rudely asks her, “Can we get a celebrity shot? Can I give it? Can I give them my opinion?”
The entire time this conversation is happening, Michelle looks so deeply uncomfortable and any female influencer definitely would. To make matters worse, he doesn’t know when to stop. He asks if he can have a bite of her food, to which she replies, “No, you can’t have a bite.” She then stares him in the eye with a look of general hatred on her face because it’s just getting old at this point. This man has no idea of when to call it quits and it’s disheartening and cringe to witness. Eventually, she starts ignoring him and continues her TikTok in peace.
It’s true that some people really just don’t know how to act around influencers. They should have known to just leave them be in peace in the first place. One commenter stated on Michelle’s video, “The audacity he had to ask if he could have a bite after the way he spoke to you. Like boy bye. You handled that so well.” Another commented, “Some will project their insecurities when they see someone doing what they like.” Apparently, he just couldn’t let Michelle enjoy a moment in peace, enjoying her food and doing what she loves. That says a lot about some toxic men in general, who can’t let women just have things.
