We often say that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, but that saying doesn’t apply all the time, especially with lost objects. Recently, a Latino male from Seattle, Washington, found a fat wallet outside of a Taco Bell. Upon checking it to see who it belonged to, he discovered it had a huge amount of dollars, plus one of those White Privilege cards. Once he showed this to the public, many told him to keep it for himself, but he was the bigger man, doing the right thing and setting a great example for many.
Since this is a two-parter, we will show the first video first to provide some context. The TikTok user, who goes by the name of @Ceelosramos, recorded himself after he found a wallet outside of a Taco Bell establishment. Upon inspecting to see if he could find an address to whoever this belonged to, they discovered it had a “White Privilege Card,” which read, “Trumps Everything.” It also said the holder has been a member since birth, and it will only expire upon their death. Naturally, he and his wife laughed about the card, but before ending the first video, he said, “I’m going to do the right thing.”
And so, the second clip came, and the TikToker recorded how he and his wife drove all the way outside of town to deliver the wallet. The video eventually cuts off and turns to the man talking about why he did what he did.
He states that, regardless of the hate, ideology, or political beliefs the wallet’s owner may have, he was still compelled to return the wallet. When he did, he says a 19-year-old answered the door, returned the person’s belongings, and left.
The OP also mentions how several people in the comments encouraged him to keep the money. However, he claims that the money wasn’t his to take, hence why he returned it. He also mentions a few more reasons that get into a more religious discussion, which touch upon several topics, but among them, he basically claims that we should stop the hate.
Despite many users telling the man to keep the money, the majority praised the TikToker for his action and for sharing such heartfelt thoughts, especially during the turbulent times the country is going through.
“You have good karma coming your way,” commented one user.
“You’re such a good example of what this world needs desperately right now,” said another user.
The reason why he mentions all this is because those “White Privilege” cards are extremely offensive for several communities out there, so it is great that this person, who seems to have Latino heritage, didn’t fall into the never-ending circle of hatred, and instead showed that, despite who we are or who we support, we can always do the right thing.
