Warner Bros. Montreal, the creative minds behind Batman: Arkham Origins, has once again revealed cryptic teasers through social media. Common feeling suggests a new Batman title is on the way.
However, there has been no official confirmation from the studio. They first released teasers at the end of 2019, with a video of three unique emblems captioned with “Capture the Knight / Cape sur la nuit.”. Later on, Batman writer Scott Snyder asked fans to “wait for it” in a tweet with the hashtag #bewarethecourtofowls. This tweet has been since deleted.
The Court of Owls was recently created by Snyder. They are an organization that has controlled Gotham for years. The tweet from Snyder suggests they’d play a prominent role in the upcoming game.
There were rumors at the time that the new Arkham Origins game would be premiered at XO19, but it didn’t. Despite Sony’s State Of Play and The Game Awards, there’s still been no official trailer or confirmation from WB Games Montréal.
The studio just yesterday revealed one half of an emblem to their Facebook page, and the other to Twitter. The teasers repeated the same caption, with the emblem suggesting a potential connection to Gotham City Police Department.
Now the studio has also updated its website. The new design on the website notably incorporates a number of emblems, leaving fans to speculate that more teasers will be on the way. There are eight empty circles within the design, so it’s hoped these will soon be filled in.
The multiple emblems may represent various organizations, from GCPD to the League of Shadows and The Court of Owls.
Recently, the Los Angeles Police department took direct inspiration from Batman, in creating a device that will wrap a suspect in kevlar. Its no larger than a smartphone, with similarities to Batman’s own bola weapons.
