Wes Bergmann is known for competing on MTV’s The Challenge. However, the reality star veteran (who’s won three challenges, by the way) hung up his competition shoes some time ago. Now, all Wes wants to do is appear on shows that won’t be too much for him to handle. After his retirement, fans hoped he would appear in Season 3 of The Traitors. Although that didn’t happen, he did get another call from NBC for Season 2 of House of Villains.
The reality show features several iconic reality villains, including Wes, Tiffany “New York” Pollard, and Housewives star Teresa Giudice. “I obviously knew who Teresa was, so I thought that was fun,” Bergmann told People. “And I could tell right away that I was going to be friends with Safaree [from Love & Hip Hop].”
The first two episodes of Season 2 have already aired on the small screen, and they show Wes doing what he does best: being a gaming genius. “I wasn’t gaming as much as they want to give me credit for at the beginning,” he explained. “We were just kind of getting to know each other, and it was really playful. There were some cool friendships that were formed. And then we used the gamesmanship to go after the less funny people.”
Wes Bergmann Will Always Have Love for MTV’s The Challenge
If you’ve watched Wes during Season 2 of House of Villains, it might’ve taken you back to his glory days when he was feuding with Johnny Bananas and CT on The Challenge. Speaking of which, MTV aired the 40th season of the show in August 2024. The cast includes longtime vets like Mark Long, Laurel Stucky, and Leroy Garrett.
“My fans are on me all the time. They’re like, ‘You’ll come back, and you’ll do this. What [are] you doing?’” he told People. “There was a 10 times difference in time commitments [between The Challenge and House of Villains].”
“I could show up to this fat and dumb and out of shape and do just fine. Whereas on The Challenge, I have to train for six months, leave the country and check into prison for three months. That’s way, way, way different.”
Although Wes (who’s won over $300,000 on The Challenge) doesn’t plan on returning any time soon, he will always have love for the show that changed his life.
“I’m going to be The Challenge’s biggest cheerleader,” he said. “But getting to do different things with very different types of people checks off more of my bucket list than what would’ve amounted to my 22nd or 23rd season. There was starting to be a law of diminishing returns of what I was getting out of The Challenge.”
In the meantime, you can catch Wes showcasing his strategic prowess during Season 2 of HOV, airing on E! on Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST.
