Wondering what you are supposed to do when finding blood trails in Halls of Torment? Oftentimes, you can find a trail of blood on the ground when you are traversing through the game’s Hall. Following this track will actually reward you with an interesting item after a tough boss fight. This Halls of Torment guide will explain everything you need to know about the blood trails and Token of Pain. Beware that there is a spoiler regarding one of the bosses in the game in this guide!
Explanation of Blood Trails and Token of Pain in Halls of Torment
In Halls of Torment, you can find trails of blood that will lead you to secret Shrines. There are two Shrines that you can find this way and “charging” these Halls of Torment Shrines will reward you with a Token of Pain. Having these Tokens will weaken The Lord of Pain, taking off 60% of its health when you fight it later.
The blood trails usually can be found near a Well when exploring the first Hall or level, the Haunted Caverns. Follow the blood trail and you should find the Bloodstained Pages item that explains how to use the Shrine and the Shrines themselves. Reading the Bloodstained Pages will tell you the lore behind the Token of Pain and what you need to do to charge the Shrines.
Basically, you have to offer them sacrifices by killing a number of enemies inside the circles around the area. Once the Shrines have been charged, they will break, and each will drop a purple fragment that forms the Token of Pain. It is written in the Bloodstained Pages that carrying the Token will end The Lord of Pain’s reign.
Follow the Halls of Torment blood trail, obtain the Token, and reach the final boss of Haunted Caverns. For each phase of the fight, you will instantly deal with more than half of The Lord of Pain’s health. Thus making the boss fight is much easier than usual. And that is how you can get and use the Token of Pain in Halls of Torment. Don’t forget to check out more guides on your favorite PC and console games on The Nerd Stash’s home page.
