If you’ve played any gacha games in the past, you might have noticed that most have some elaborate mechanics. There’s a lot of currency to track and many items you’ll need to boost your characters. Honkai: Star Rail isn’t an exception in terms of these features. Even if the game is a turn-based RPG, that doesn’t mean we’ll have fewer things to collect. Given how the game is from HoYoverse, we already know characters will have talents, skills, and more that you’ll need to upgrade. Yet, one of the new things for Honkai: Star Rail is Light Cones. If you want to know what these items do, we’ll tell you all about them.
What Are Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail?
According to the official information, Light Cones are Honkai: Star Rail weapons. If you’ve played Genshin Impact, you might remember that there are several types of weapons, each matching a specific character. In Honkai: Star Rail, things are a bit different. Instead of having weapons, Light Cones work as such, and they boost different stats depending on the Light Cone you have. These items can be categorized by Paths, another mechanic you need to watch for.
While there won’t be any weapons in the game per se, Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail are still necessary if you want to strengthen your characters. Looking for Light Cones of the same Path as your character would be best. Equipping your character with a Light Cone of the same Path will let you use the skill of this item. This is essential when building characters, as they will influence the flow of battle and your performance.

How to Get Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail?
There are many ways to get Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail. Think of them as weapons in Genshin Impact. In this last game, you got them via chests or by pulling for specific banners, for the upcoming Honkai: Star Rail is the same. You’ll be able to get them while exploring and by Warping (which is pulling for a banner). Players recommend using Star Passes to get characters first and then focus on weapons. It is still uncertain how the meta of the game will work once it launches, but if you find any Light Cones, hold on to them until there are some builds out there.
Honkai: Star Rail is ready to launch, with the global release times already up. This game will be released on PC and Mobile, with a PlayStation release soon.
